So that is more ideology being used under the guise of history, and we want to do history.\u201d<\/p>\n DeSantis\u2019 office said they are ensuring Florida schools \u201cutilize accurate, historical curriculum.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s what our standards for black history are: it\u2019s just cut-and-dry history. You learn all the basics, you learn about the great figures,\u201d DeSantis said. \u201cI view it as American history. I don\u2019t view it as separate history.\u201d<\/p>\n DeSantis\u2019 office previously explained that classrooms in the state are places for \u201ceducation, not indoctrination.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThe Florida Department of Education has rejected the College Board\u2019s AP African American Studies course because it lacks educational value and historical accuracy,\u201d Bryan Griffin, DeSantis\u2019 press secretary, told the Daily Caller News Foundation<\/a>. \u201cAs submitted, the course is a vehicle for a political agenda and leaves large, ambiguous gaps that can be filled with additional ideological material, which we will not allow.
