What I can assure you is that I want to make sure that Fentanyl doesn\u2019t indiscriminately kill any race, religion, color, or creed but Fentanyl doesn\u2019t care where you are from. Fentanyl doesn\u2019t care about race. Fentanyl kills indiscriminately.<\/p>\n This gentleman right here works his tail off every single day to stop that from happening. Now, there has been a break in the dam and that is pretty obvious because a couple of years ago of course we had some problems but it wasn\u2019t amplified to the level we are seeing every single day. And the reason we have to be careful with what we call and what we deem racist moving forward is because we start to lose focus on what the actual problem is.<\/p>\n This administration a Democrat party unfortunately uses race as a scapegoat for everything. And as somebody that does attack racist issues when they do occur we can\u2019t be the boy who cried wolf and blame racism all the time. I am here to hold this administration accountable to understand that there are issues of race that need to be addressed and sir this ain\u2019t one of them.<\/p>\n I applaud some of your actions in El Paso it sounds like some great things but I am going to tell you being born and raised in Texas, living in Houston we have a problem and this problem has precipitated over the past two years, that is a fact. I get working together.<\/p>\n I get reaching across the aisle but this morning I can\u2019t believe we had a one-hour debate over whether or not we should say the pledge of allegiance before we convene every day. One-hour\u2026I implore you all to be careful using race because your son is no longer here and I\u2019m sorry. There is a hundred thousand sons and daughters who are no longer here because of Fentanyl last year. \u201c<\/p>\n National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd also called out Schiff for lying during the hearing.<\/p>\n Fox News reported:<\/a><\/p>\n BRANDON JUDD: There\u2019s very few things that make me upset, more upset than hearing what Adam Schiff just said. That is complete and total lies. It\u2019s fabrications, it\u2019s deflection. He\u2019s saying that these people are fleeing political persecution. That\u2019s not true. The vast majority of these people do not have a legitimate claim. They get released into the United States and then they don\u2019t show up to their ultimate court appearances. They disappear into the shadows of society. That\u2019s a term that President Obama coined\u2026 if they had a true claim, they would show up to all of their court appearances. They would go through the entire process. The vast majority do not. Schiff is simply deflecting because he knows that that\u2019s what the base wants to hear. He knows he\u2019s playing politics with United States citizens\u2019 lives. And that\u2019s disgusting. All they have is rhetoric. They do not have facts. Facts matter. And facts [are] what the American people need to hear about. And if they heard the facts, they would be extremely upset.
