{"id":11906,"date":"2023-04-11T14:40:56","date_gmt":"2023-04-11T14:40:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sasquatchnewsonline.com\/?p=11906"},"modified":"2023-04-11T14:40:56","modified_gmt":"2023-04-11T14:40:56","slug":"pentagon-leaks-us-intelligence-expects-modest-results-from-ukrainian-spring-offensive-russians-welcome-the-chance-to-tackle-kievs-forces-out-in-the-open","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sasquatchnewsonline.com\/?p=11906","title":{"rendered":"Pentagon Leaks: US Intelligence Expects Modest Results From Ukrainian Spring Offensive \u2013 Russians Welcome the Chance to Tackle Kiev\u2019s Forces \u2018Out in the Open\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The difficulty of training and massing the necessary troops, as well as a serious shortage of ammunition and military equipment, will probably keep the Kiev regime from attaining the goals for their much-hyped \u2018spring offensive\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>This harsh assessment, apparently based on human and signals intelligence, was released as part of the ongoing massive leak of US classified documents that has sparked investigations of the Pentagon and DOJ.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/national-security\/2023\/04\/10\/leaked-documents-ukraine-counteroffensive\/\">The Washington Post reports<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLabeled \u2018top secret,\u2019 the bleak assessment from early February warns of significant \u2018force generation and sustainment shortfalls,\u2019 and the likelihood that such an operation will result in only \u2018modest territorial gains.\u2019 It\u2019s a marked departure from the Biden administration\u2019s public statements about the vitality of Ukraine\u2019s military and is likely to embolden critics who feel the United States and NATO should do more to push for a negotiated settlement to the conflict.<\/p>\n<p>[\u2026] It has revealed, for instance, where American officials have detected critical weaknesses in\u00a0Ukraine\u2019s air defenses\u00a0and access to ammunition while exposing considerable deficiencies within the Russian military, too. Many of the assessments date to February and March.<\/p>\n<p>The document forecasting only modest success in Ukraine\u2019s forthcoming counteroffensive indicates that Kyiv\u2019s strategy revolves around reclaiming contested areas in the east while pushing south in a bid to sever Russia\u2019s land bridge to Crimea.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ukrainian spokesman mad at the hyping of the counteroffensive.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>By attacking, Ukrainian forces will have to expose themselves to a much greater degree, while the Russians will have deeply entrenched defenses to fight back from with their overwhelming artillery firepower.<\/p>\n<p>The leaked document states that <em>\u201cenduring Ukrainian deficiencies in training and munitions supplies probably will <strong>strain progress and exacerbate casualties during the offensive<\/strong>.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to WaPo, A senior Ukrainian official shared:<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[The document] is partially true, but the most critical part is a delay of the already promised systems, which slows training of newly formed brigades and the counteroffensive as a whole.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Last Chance? UK Times selected an Ukrainian soldier that highlights its troubles with troop mobilization.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On the Russian side, reactions to the leaking of the counteroffensive plans were mixed. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/DDMultipolar\/53816\">PMC Wagner chief, Yevgeny Prigozhin, estimated<\/a> the number of Ukrainian troops for the counteroffensive at 200 thousand, and warned that this represents a real threat.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey have collected about 200, according to some sources up to 400 thousand personnel, this cannot be underestimated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Head of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/DDMultipolar\/53661\">took to Telegram<\/a> to suggest that the over-hyped Ukrainian spring counteroffensive would benefit Russia, \u2018as Moscow\u2019s troops would have an opportunity to fight in more favorable conditions\u2019 to use fewer resources.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPersonally, I\u2019m all for it. A successful counteroffensive needs considerable resources; losses among the attackers are inevitable.
