{"id":1370,"date":"2022-05-21T03:21:25","date_gmt":"2022-05-21T03:21:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sasquatchnewsonline.com\/?p=1370"},"modified":"2022-05-21T03:21:25","modified_gmt":"2022-05-21T03:21:25","slug":"fda-approves-new-intravenous-monkeypox-drug-treatment-from-pfizer-linked-siga-technologies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sasquatchnewsonline.com\/?p=1370","title":{"rendered":"FDA Approves New Intravenous Monkeypox Drug Treatment From PFIZER-Linked SIGA Technologies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Pfizer is apparently at it again, conveniently hitting another grand slam with another <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biospace.com\/article\/releases\/siga-receives-approval-from-the-fda-for-intravenous-iv-formulation-of-tpoxx-tecovirimat-fda-approval-provides-an-important-option-for-those-unable-to-take-oral-formulation-of-tpoxx-\/\">perfectly timed drug release<\/a> for the latest viral outbreak sweeping the west \u2013 monkeypox.<\/p>\n<p>After hitting it out of the park with their experimental mRNA Covid vaccine \u2013 typically what would be considered a once-in-a-lifetime development that\u2019s cashing the company out to a tune of <a href=\"https:\/\/reliefweb.int\/report\/world\/pfizer-biontech-and-moderna-making-1000-profit-every-second-while-world-s-poorest\">$1,000 per second<\/a> \u2013 it seems like a long stretch that Pfizer would be involved in the \u2018cure\u2019 for the new outbreak, but hey, they apparently pulled it off.<\/p>\n<p>Either way, here comes a Pfizer affiliate with another healthcare \u2018solution\u2019 as monkeypox becomes the new Covid.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that it had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biospace.com\/article\/releases\/siga-receives-approval-from-the-fda-for-intravenous-iv-formulation-of-tpoxx-tecovirimat-fda-approval-provides-an-important-option-for-those-unable-to-take-oral-formulation-of-tpoxx-\/\">approved<\/a> the company\u2019s intravenous version of TPOXX\u00ae (tecovirimat) for use in the US to treat monkeypox. The new drug was created by SIGA Technologies, which formed a partnership related to the drug with Meridian Medical Technologies in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>And, sure enough, Meridian is owned by Pfizer.<\/p>\n<p>In 2019, a company called SIGA Technologies announced a promotion agreement for TPOXX, its smallpox\/monkeypox drug, with Meridian Medical Technologies.<\/p>\n<p>Guess who owns Meridian?<\/p>\n<p>Pfizer. <\/p>\n<p>Today, the FDA approved SIGA&#8217;s drug.<\/p>\n<p>Pfizer scores again.<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/AUj9aFQWex\">https:\/\/t.co\/AUj9aFQWex<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Jordan Schachtel @ dossier.substack.com (@JordanSchachtel) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JordanSchachtel\/status\/1527386075265654785?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 19, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n\n<p>SIGA, which is a US-based \u201ccommercial-stage pharmaceutical company,\u201d focuses on \u201ccountermeasures for biological, chemical, radiological and nuclear attacks (biodefense market), vaccines and therapies for emerging infectious diseases, and health preparedness\u201d \u2013 In other words, the company is all about \u201chealth security,\u201d which is right up Pfizer\u2019s alley.<\/p>\n<p>Their drug TPOXX has been available for use to treat smallpox for several years, but it was only available in pill form.
