Earlier today, The Gateway Pundit reported that DeSantis Super PAC founder John Thomas admits DeSantis\u2019s \u201cfailure to launch\u201d after they \u201cdrafted\u201d DeSantis to run because they believed \u201che\u2019s got the stuff.\u201d\u00a0 Thomas said President Trump has run a \u201cnearly flawless campaign\u201d and that \u201cwe are revers[ing] course to get behind Donald Trump\u201d.\u00a0 Thomas joins a trio esteemed members of DeSantis-supporting PACs that seem to be gun-shy of the Florida Governor\u2019s chances as funding is drying up in the DeSantis camp after laying off staff in July after \u201crapidly burning through cash.<\/a>\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cReady For Ron\u201d PAC Former Co-Chair Flips<\/h2>\n

On Sunday, Ed Rollins, the former co-chair of the \u201cReady for Ron\u201d PAC said:<\/p>\n

\u201cNo one in the Republican primaries is going to beat, defeat President Trump.\u00a0 He has a strong, solid base. It\u2019s gotten stronger as he\u2019s gone through these terrible indictments. The fact that he\u2019s been indicted on 91 counts is just absurd.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rollins did shy away from the DeSantis campaign in July when he called DeSantis a \u201cflawed candidate<\/a>\u201c.\u00a0 Rollins, who was once a consultant for Ronald Reagan in 1984, previously headed the Great America PAC in support of President Trump until flipping sides for \u201cTeam DeSantis.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNever Back Down\u201d PAC Grifts for Another $50 Million- 60 Days Left to Win<\/h2>\n

Additionally, DeSantis sympathizers from the \u201cNever Back Down\u201d PAC Chris Jankowski (CEO), Kristin Davison (COO), and Jeff Roe (chief strategist) participated in a presentation in an effort to grift another $50 million by years end for the failing candidate.\u00a0 Then they need another $50 million by the end of March.\u00a0 In Leaked audio<\/a> from the event, Jankowski can be heard telling donors \u201cI\u2019m not worried about the second $50M.\u00a0 We need the first $50M.\u201d\u00a0 The trio blamed their shortcomings on lack of media exposure and called for the rallying of 100,000 Iowans to caucus for DeSantis.<\/p>\n

Jeff Roe, DeSantis\u2019s Never Back Down PAC chief strategist, also\u00a0admitted<\/a> to donors the campaign has just 60 days to defeat former President Donald Trump and that the Super PAC would need an additional<\/strong> $50 million before the second Republican primary debate on September 27th.<\/p>\n

Never Back Down has also\u00a0halted<\/a>\u00a0its paid door-knocking efforts in Super Tuesday primary states, as well as in the critical early state of Nevada. The SuperPAC\u2019s cost cutting moves come as it shifts resources into Iowa \u2013 including a nearly\u00a0$12 million ad-buy<\/a>\u00a0announced earlier this week.<\/p>\n

Roe told donors: \u201cIf you have an education, if you have higher income, if you read the Bible and if you go to church regularly, you happen to be a DeSantis supporter.\u201d<\/p>\n

CNN revealed that the Never Back Down team has derived a \u201cDeSantis index\u201d to determine the likelihood of someone backing DeSantis in his campaign.\u00a0 They also offered some more insight into the campaign event that took place just before the debate late last month:<\/p>\n

Roughly 60 donors attended the fundraising lunch, hosted at a DoubleTree hotel blocks away from the debate venue, sources familiar with the event details told CNN. Among the attendees was Dallas businessman Roy Bailey, the former co-chair of the Trump campaign\u2019s finance committee who has since changed allegiances.<\/p>\n

Davison told CNN Thursday \u201cevery investor wants to see how you get to the final round and how you win, and almost all the donors left confident that that we had a clear path to victory to help the governor win.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cInvestors\u201d.\u00a0 As in \u201cexpecting a return-on-investment\u201d?\u00a0 Perhaps this was the logic of the individuals who gave Ron DeSantis tragically awful advice to run against the man who made him Governor of Florida in the first place.\u00a0 Shame.\u00a0 He would have been a \u201cshoo-in\u201d in 2028.<\/p>\n
