The House Committee on Oversight and Accountability held its first hearing<\/a> on the impeachment of Joe Biden on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The three witnesses testifying today are:<\/p>\n

Bruce Dubinsky, Founder, Dubinsky Consulting (forensic accountant)
\nEileen O\u2019Connor, Former Assistant Attorney General, Department of Justice Tax Division
\nJonathan Turley, Shapiro Chair for Public Interest Law, George Washington University Law School<\/p>\n

House Oversight Chairman James Comer was on fire in his opening statement Thursday morning.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt least ten times, Joe Biden lied to the American people that he never spoke to his family about their business dealings,\u201d Comer said. \u201cHe lied by telling the American people that there was an \u201cabsolute wall\u201d between his official government duties and his personal life.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s be clear: there was no wall. The door was wide open to those who purchased what a business associate described as \u201cThe Biden Brand,\u201d Comer added.<\/p>\n

House Ways and Means Chairman Jason Smith went off on Joe and Hunter Biden after new documents revealed Hunter sold access to his father in 23 countries.<\/p>\n

\u201cYesterday, the Ways and Means Committee released new documents showing President Biden was not just aware of his son\u2019s business dealings, but he was connected to them. And a newly released message to a Chinese business executive Hunter Biden mentions preserving the \u2018keys to my family\u2019s only asset,\u2019 that asset being Joe Biden.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Biden family sold access to Joe Biden\u2019s power \u2014 and the Biden DOJ protected the Biden \u2018brand,’\u201d Rep. Smith said.<\/p>\n

House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan also blasted Joe Biden in his opening statement.<\/p>\n

At one point Ranking Member of the House Oversight Committee Jamie Raskin (D-MD), tried to hijack the hearing and called for a vote on subpoenaing \u2018key figures\u2019 including Rudy Giuliani.<\/p>\n

Comer shut Raskin down and called for a vote to table his motion.<\/p>\n
