Most kids attended the match after fans were banned due to the previous behavior of Hungary fans during Euro 2020 matches.<\/p>\n<p>Hungary\u2019s government has defended the young crowd for booing the England team for their \u2018wokeness\u2019 on Saturday\u2019s Nations League match. Those criticizing the adverse reaction to England\u2019s traditional gesture have also been branded \u2018idiots,\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/sport\/football\/1621006\/Hungarian-government-defends-children-booing-England-gesture-hits-out-at-idiots\">Express<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>Gareth Southgate, England team\u2019s men\u2019s senior manager, <span class=\"css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FansTribeHQ\/status\/1533421035579756547\">responded<\/a> to England players being booed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have no idea why people would choose to boo that gesture. I am here for football.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/0ms7q7Afi5\">pic.twitter.com\/0ms7q7Afi5<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Klaus Arminius (@Klaus_Arminius) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Klaus_Arminius\/status\/1533515971532623873\">June 5, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2022\/06\/05\/watch-england-team-booed-35000-hungarians-blm-knee-lose-match\/\">Breitbart<\/a> reported:<\/p>\n<p>The booing has incensed Southgate and his fellow-travellers in politics and the media, not least because Hungary was supposed to be subject to a temporary spectator ban by the\u00a0International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) and\u00a0the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), following allegations that Hungarian fans had unfurled banners reading \u2018ANTI LMBTQ\u2019 \u2014 the Hungarian equivalent of LGBTQ \u2014 and making racist comments and gestures towards ethnic minority players.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, some 35,000 Hungarians are believed to have attended the match, due to a loophole in the ban allowing\u00a0under-14s from schools and football academies to attend with their parents,\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thetimes.co.uk\/article\/gareth-southgate-booing-of-the-knee-is-why-we-do-it-to-try-to-educate-people-around-the-world-pw3pmsj2q\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according<\/a>\u00a0to\u00a0<em>The Times<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Southgate complained that it was \u201cdifficult to understand\u201d how the large number of Hungarian fans aligned with a ban on stadium attendance,\u00a0suggesting that it \u201cneeds some consideration [from footballing authorities] without a doubt.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s why we do [take the knee] \u2014 to try to educate people around the world.
