{"id":20555,"date":"2023-11-10T23:39:31","date_gmt":"2023-11-10T23:39:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sasquatchnewsonline.com\/?p=20555"},"modified":"2023-11-10T23:39:31","modified_gmt":"2023-11-10T23:39:31","slug":"bidenomics-moodys-cuts-outlook-on-us-government-to-negative-developing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sasquatchnewsonline.com\/?p=20555","title":{"rendered":"BIDENOMICS: Moody\u2019s Cuts Outlook on US Government to Negative\u2026 Developing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bidenomics.<\/p>\n<p>Moody\u2019s Investors Service cut the US\u2019s outlook to negative on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Moody\u2019s lowered its ratings outlook on the US government citing high interest rates, government spending and deficits. <\/p>\n<p>CNBC <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2023\/11\/10\/moodys-cuts-usa-outlook-to-negative-citing-higher-interest-rates-and-deficits.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p>Moody\u2019s Investors Service lowered its ratings outlook on the United States\u2019 government to negative from stable, pointing to rising risks to the nation\u2019s fiscal strength.<\/p>\n<p>The ratings agency has affirmed the long-term issuer and senior unsecured ratings of the U.S. at Aaa.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the context of higher interest rates, without effective fiscal policy measures to reduce government spending or increase revenues,\u201d the agency said. \u201cMoody\u2019s expects that the US\u2019 fiscal deficits will remain very large, significantly weakening debt affordability.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegatewaypundit.com\/2023\/03\/developing-moodys-cuts-outlook-for-entire-us-banking-sector-puts-six-banks-on-downgrade-watch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Moody\u2019s cut its outlook for the entire US banking sector<\/a> to negative and put six banks on \u2018downgrade\u2019 watch.<\/p>\n<p>The credit rating service\u2019s move to downgrade the entire banking sector from \u2018stable\u2019 to \u2018negative\u2019 will impact borrowing costs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBanks with substantial unrealized securities losses and with non-retail and uninsured US depositors may still be more sensitive to depositor competition or ultimate flight, with adverse effects on funding, liquidity, earnings and capital,\u201d Moody\u2019s said in its report in March.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegatewaypundit.com\/2023\/07\/just-federal-reserve-raises-interest-rates-highest-level\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Federal Reserve<\/a> raised interest rates 11 times for a total of 550 basis points since last year \u2013 7 times in 2022 and 4 times in 2023 \u2013 in an effort to hedge inflation.<\/p>\n<p>The sudden and dramatic rate hikes crushed the bankers invested in low-yielding mortgage-backed securities.<\/p>\n<p>Silicon Valley Bank was in FDIC receivership earlier this year after investors withdrew more than $40 billion in a run on the bank.<\/p>\n<p>Moody\u2019s put First Republic Bank (FRC), Zions (ZION), Western Alliance (WAL), Comerica (CMA), UMB Financial (UMBF) and Intrust Financial on \u2018downgrade\u2019 watch.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2023\/03\/14\/moodys-cuts-outlook-on-us-banking-system-to-negative-citing-rapidly-deteriorating-operating-environment.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNBC<\/a>, the credit rating firm cited \u201cextremely volatile funding conditions for some US banks exposed to the risk of uninsured deposit outflows.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The post <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegatewaypundit.com\/2023\/11\/bidenomics-moodys-cuts-uss-outlook-negative-developing\/\">BIDENOMICS: Moody\u2019s Cuts Outlook on US Government to Negative\u2026 Developing<\/a> appeared first on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegatewaypundit.com\/\">The Gateway Pundit<\/a>.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bidenomics.
