{"id":21317,"date":"2023-11-26T22:44:54","date_gmt":"2023-11-26T22:44:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sasquatchnewsonline.com\/?p=21317"},"modified":"2023-11-26T22:44:54","modified_gmt":"2023-11-26T22:44:54","slug":"fatal-fruit-wake-up-call-infectious-outbreak-crosses-border-new-death-confirmed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sasquatchnewsonline.com\/?p=21317","title":{"rendered":"Fatal Fruit: \u2018Wake-Up Call\u2019 Infectious Outbreak Crosses Border, New Death Confirmed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Black Friday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued an ominous warning that there was an outbreak of Salmonella infections \u2014 an outbreak that had swiftly doubled since the organization first noted the issue a week prior on Nov. 17.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/media\/releases\/2023\/s1124-salmonella-fruits.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Friday update<\/a> noted that since the Nov. 17 report, \u201can additional 56 people\u201d were infected with the \u201coutbreak strain\u201d of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/three-brands-named-growing-recall-fda-announces-number-sickened-consumers-doubled\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Salmonella<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>That brings the U.S. total count to 99 infections across 32 states.<\/p>\n<p>Since the Nov. 17 update, another 28 people have also been hospitalized, bringing total hospitalizations to 45.<\/p>\n<p>On top of all that, Minnesota has also reported two deaths linked to the Salmonella outbreak.<\/p>\n<p>Now, the Public Health Agency of Canada \u2014 an official arm of the country\u2019s government \u2014 has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/public-health\/services\/public-health-notices\/2023\/outbreak-salmonella-infections-malichita-cantaloupes.html#a6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a> that the same outbreak has claimed a life north of the border, as well as an additional \u201c63 laboratory-confirmed cases\u201d of Salmonella in Canada.<\/p>\n<p>Canada has also seen 17 individuals be hospitalized due to the issue.<\/p>\n<p>As to the source of this sudden international outbreak, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/skin-disfiguring-parasite-plagues-middle-east-latin-america-asia-now-detected-us-cdc-warns\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the CDC<\/a> notes that \u201cinterviews with sick people and laboratory findings\u201d support the thesis that this Salmonella originated with cantaloupes.<\/p>\n<p>SALMONELLA OUTBREAK UPDATE: 99 people sick in 32 states, including 45 hospitalized and 2 deaths.
