{"id":22613,"date":"2023-12-29T03:40:02","date_gmt":"2023-12-29T03:40:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sasquatchnewsonline.com\/?p=22613"},"modified":"2023-12-29T03:40:02","modified_gmt":"2023-12-29T03:40:02","slug":"of-course-maine-secretary-of-state-barring-trump-from-2024-ballot-attended-the-anti-trump-womens-march-in-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sasquatchnewsonline.com\/?p=22613","title":{"rendered":"OF COURSE: Maine Secretary of State Barring Trump from 2024 Ballot Attended the Anti-Trump \u2018Women\u2019s March\u2019 in 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Credit: Maine Secretary of State Office<\/p>\n<p>Shenna Bellows, the Maine Secretary of State who is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegatewaypundit.com\/2023\/12\/breaking-far-left-maine-secretary-state-kicks-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trying to bar Trump from the 2024 ballot,<\/a> attended the anti-Trump \u2018Women\u2019s March\u2019 in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>The Women\u2019s March featured numerous speakers using violent rhetoric, including the singer Madonna who said that she had been thinking of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegatewaypundit.com\/2017\/01\/secret-service-aware-madonnas-blow-white-house-comment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u2018blowing up\u2019 the White House.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Women\u2019s March, as an organization, quickly crumbled due to multiple charges of anti-Semitism.<\/p>\n<p>This woman clearly thinks of herself as part of the anti-Trump \u2018resistance\u2019 so her efforts to get Trump removed from the ballot should come as no surprise.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mainepublic.org\/maine\/2017-01-21\/thousands-rally-across-maine-in-support-of-womens-rights\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Maine Public<\/a> reported in 2017:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thousands Rally Across Maine in Support of Women\u2019s Rights<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One day after the presidential inauguration of Donald Trump, thousands of women and men turned out across Maine Saturday to raise their voices, show solidarity and pledge to stand up for women\u2019s and immigrants\u2019 rights, for the LGBT community and for the environment.  In Augusta, the crowd at the State house was so large that Capitol Security couldn\u2019t provide an estimate of its size.  At one point cars trying to get off I-95 were backed up for more than a mile, delaying the start of the rally for about half an hour\u2026<\/p>\n<p><strong>Speakers, such as Democratic state Sen. Shenna Bellows of Manchester,<\/strong> the former director of the ACLU of Maine, acknowledged the fear people have about the future under a the new administration. But Bellows and others encouraged them to remember that they are not alone, that it is important to stay engaged, and that there is power in numbers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you look back at our nation\u2019s history of civil rights it\u2019s one of both tragic loss and setbacks and forward action of people,\u201d Bellows said. \u201cAnd we are a more just and equal society than we were at our nation\u2019s founding or even 50 years ago.
