Participants on ABC\u2019s \u201cThe View\u201d were left wrestling with the massive \u201cuncommitted\u201d votes in Michigan\u2019s Democratic primary on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

As of early Wednesday afternoon the uncommitted votes totaled 101,436 or 13.2 percent of votes cast, according to The New York Times<\/a>. Votes tabulated totaled more than 95 percent.<\/p>\n

The uncommitted votes stemmed from concerns of those in Arab-Americans communities in the southeast part of the state about allegations of violence against Gaza residents in the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, according to \u201cThe View\u201d co-host Sunny Hostin.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese are protest votes,\u201d Hostin said. \u201cThese are votes \u2014 they\u2019re uncommitted votes \u2014 and they\u2019re saying, \u2018Hear us. Listen to us. Hundreds of members of my family have been killed. Yes! That is my issue. That is my one issue.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

It also is a critical issue among young voters, Hostin said, citing large numbers of uncommitted votes in the major Michigan college towns of Ann Arbor and East Lansing.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe View\u201d co-hosts debate the \u201cUncommitted\u201d protest movement in the Michigan Democratic presidential primary:<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat the Biden administration has to understand is that young voters \u2014 first time voters \u2014 are very concerned about this issue,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd when it comes to Michigan, if you look at the breakdown,\u201d Hostin continued, \u201c19 percent of those votes came from the University of Michigan \u2014 young voters \u2014 in Ann Arbor.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn East Lansing \u2013 home of Michigan State \u2013 uncommitted got 15 percent of the vote.\u201d<\/p>\n

And Hostin warned of the consequences<\/a> to President Joe Biden if Arab-Americans are not heeded.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are 300,000 of the Arab population in Michigan,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd Trump carried Michigan in 2016 by about 11,000 votes.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are telling you \u2014 this issue matters, hear us,\u201d Hostin concluded.<\/p>\n

Co-host Whoopi Goldberg voiced objection to votes of uncommitted as reflecting inaction.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I then say, \u2018You\u2019re not doing it fast enough for me, so I\u2019m going to sit,\u201d Goldberg said, then folding her arms, \u201cthat doesn\u2019t help me.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey didn\u2019t sit, though,\u201d Hostin countered.<\/p>\n

Goldberg replied: \u201cThey voted (uncommitted). That\u2019s the same for me as sitting.\u201d<\/p>\n

A Reuters<\/a> account indicated, the Biden campaign has been blindsided by seething resentment in Michigan<\/a> over the administration\u2019s support of Israel.<\/p>\n

It puts Biden, a self-professed Zionist, in the middle of pressures<\/a> from several groups, which traditionally vote Democratic.<\/p>\n
