On Saturday, President Donald Trump delivered a fiery speech that courted the Libertarian audience.<\/p>\n
Addressing a crowd of Libertarian attendees, Trump took a firm stance on his administration\u2019s record compared to that of Joe Biden<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cUnlike Joe Biden, I don\u2019t throw people in jail for disagreeing with me. I don\u2019t do that!\u201d Trump said, positioning himself as a protector of free speech and personal liberties.<\/p>\n In an attempt to bridge gaps within the broader conservative movement, Trump extended an olive branch to the Libertarian community.<\/p>\n He pledged significant inclusion of Libertarians in his potential future administration, stating, \u201cI am committing to you tonight that I will put a Libertarian in my cabinet and also Libertarians in senior posts.\u201d<\/p>\n Trump\u2019s speech at the libertarian convention is strong and powerful.<\/p>\n He came out strong against the Central Bank Digital Currency.<\/p>\n Against unnecessary wars.<\/p>\n Against high taxes.<\/p>\n For pro-growth, light-touch regulatory reforms.<\/p>\n Libertarians everywhere should watch and listen.<\/p>\n \u2014 Mike Lee (@BasedMikeLee) May 26, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n\n The highlight of the evening came when Trump promised to commute the sentence of Ross Ulbricht<\/a>, the founder of Silk Road, who has become something of a cause c\u00e9l\u00e8bre among Libertarians and advocates for privacy and reduced government interference.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s already served 11 years; we\u2019re gonna get him home,\u201d Trump announced; the crowd of Libertarians roared with applause and started to chant \u201cRoss.\u201d<\/p>\n Despite his efforts to unify, not all attendees were swayed by Trump\u2019s presence or proposals. A vocal segment of the crowd expressed their disapproval through boos and unruly behavior.<\/p>\n The president has had enough and said what needed to be said to the Libertarian Party.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Libertarian Party should nominate Trump for the President of the United States,\u201d Trump announced.<\/p>\n \u201cOnly if you want to win.
