{"id":29828,"date":"2024-05-28T19:40:04","date_gmt":"2024-05-28T19:40:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sasquatchnewsonline.com\/?p=29828"},"modified":"2024-05-28T19:40:04","modified_gmt":"2024-05-28T19:40:04","slug":"popular-nj-boardwalk-shut-down-and-state-of-emergency-declared-over-hordes-of-unruly-undisciplined-teens-on-memorial-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sasquatchnewsonline.com\/?p=29828","title":{"rendered":"Popular NJ Boardwalk Shut Down and State of Emergency Declared Over Hordes of \u2018Unruly, Undisciplined\u2019 Teens on Memorial Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>A popular New Jersey boardwalk was temporarily shut down, and a state of emergency was declared over hordes of \u201cunruly, undisciplined\u201d teens causing chaos on Memorial Day.<\/h3>\n<p>The boardwalk in the shore town of Wildwood was closed just after midnight after police received an \u201cirrepressible number\u201d of complaints about an \u201cextremely large number of young adults &amp; juveniles,\u201d according to a report from the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/05\/27\/us-news\/nj-shore-town-closes-boardwalk-and-declares-state-of-emergency-after-chaos-over-unruly-teens-on-memorial-day-weekend\/\">New York Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The report explains:<\/p>\n<p>City officials did not cite a specific incident that led them to shut down the boardwalk, but claimed that cops were addressing \u201ccivil unrest.\u201d Conditions \u201cbegan to deteriorate despite the presence and efforts of local police officers and multiple mutual aid law enforcement agencies,\u201d the statement adds.<\/p>\n<p>Wildwood Mayor Ernie Troiano, Jr. said that the city had declared a \u201cstate of emergency\u201d \u2013 which allows it to send an abnormally large police presence to the area \u2013 and blamed the situation on \u201cunruly\u201d teens.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWildwood will not tolerate unruly, undisciplined, unparented children nor will we stand by while the laws of the state tie the hands of the police,\u201d Troiano, Jr said in a press release.<\/p>\n<p>Wildwood forced to close its boardwalk early today,\u201clocal disaster emergency declared.
