House Republicans are preparing to vote on a resolution to hold US Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt of Congress for defying a subpoena.<\/p>\n

The House voted 208-207 to advance the measure.<\/p>\n

Last month two GOP-led House committees\u00a0passed resolutions<\/a>\u00a0recommending US Attorney General Merrick Garland be held in contempt of Congress for refusing to hand over audio of Biden\u2019s interview with Special Counsel Robert Hur.<\/p>\n

Merrick Garland has reportedly\u00a0\u201cclassified at the highest level\u201d the audio tapes<\/a>\u00a0of Joe Biden\u2019s embarrassing interview with Special Counsel Hur. The tapes have been locked away in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF), according to investigative journalist Paul Sperry.<\/p>\n

House Oversight Chairman James Comer previously argued that Joe Biden cannot assert executive privilege over the audio of his interview with Robert Hur because the transcript has already been publicly released.<\/p>\n

Chairmen Comer and Jordan previously sought Biden transcripts, notes, video and audio files of Robert Hur\u2019s 5-hour interview over two days.<\/p>\n

Robert Hur found that Joe Biden \u201cwillfully retained\u201d classified information, however, he decided not to charge him. Hur said there is evidence Biden retained classified notebooks, \u201cknowing he was not allowed to do so.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Justice Department defended not bringing charges against Biden because he\u2019s a \u201csympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.\u201d<\/p>\n

Biden\u00a0forgot when he was Vice President<\/a>\u00a0and also couldn\u2019t remember when his son Beau died.<\/p>\n

The final vote from the House of Representatives will likely take place Wednesday evening.<\/p>\n
