In light of the Supreme Court\u2019s recent decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, a woke employee at the Universal Music Group claimed he was fired for refusing to work, The New York Post<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n

Michael Lopez, a production coordinator at Universal Music Enterprises and a proud openly gay man, posted a lengthy note on his LinkedIn account<\/a> last week.<\/p>\n

Lopez accused his former company of being \u201canti-gay\u201d for firing a \u201cqueer brown person\u201d during Pride Month for \u201cspeaking up in defense of abortion rights.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cLast Friday, like countless other folks, I was devastated by the news of the Supreme Court\u2019s attack on abortion rights. Paired with the flood of anti-queer and anti-trans legislation, it\u2019s been hard to process how company\u2019s expect us to be productive while our rights are being stripped away,\u201d a statement in his LinkedIn read.<\/p>\n

Lopez went rogue and shared that he sent an email saying, \u201cI didn\u2019t do them today,\u201d rather than completing the standard process reports as required.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery Friday, one of my tasks was to process reports for upcoming releases. This is an email list that goes out to 275 people. I don\u2019t know who\u2019s on it, I just knew it was the email list with the most people that I had access to,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s an excerpt from his email:<\/p>\n

Subject line: UMe Schedules
\nMessage:<\/p>\n

I didn\u2019t do them today.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m in mourning due to the attack on people with uteruses in the US. Federally guaranteed access to abortion is gone.<\/p>\n

Vivendi<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Universal Music Group<\/a>\u00a0must stop donating to anti-abortion, anti-queer and anti-trans politicians. Politicians like Marsha Blackburn, Ken Buck, Victoria Spartz, etc. Or expect more unproductive days.<\/p>\n
