{"id":32088,"date":"2024-07-19T15:40:00","date_gmt":"2024-07-19T15:40:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sasquatchnewsonline.com\/?p=32088"},"modified":"2024-07-19T15:40:00","modified_gmt":"2024-07-19T15:40:00","slug":"massive-it-outage-hits-major-u-s-hospital-chain-microsoft-crowdstrike-glitch-forces-cancellation-of-all-elective-surgeries-and-medical-procedures","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sasquatchnewsonline.com\/?p=32088","title":{"rendered":"Massive IT Outage Hits Major U.S. Hospital Chain: Microsoft Crowdstrike Glitch Forces Cancellation of All Elective Surgeries and Medical Procedures"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of the largest healthcare systems in America has canceled all non-urgent visits, procedures, and surgeries due to a computer outage linked to cybersecurity firm Crowdstrike.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegatewaypundit.com\/2024\/07\/widespread-it-outages-reported-across-globe-major-us\/\">The Gateway Pundit<\/a> reported earlier that major \u201cIT outages\u201d are being reported across the world, affecting banking systems, health care systems, emergency services, and airlines\u2019 communications.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-2 last:mb-0\">Mass General Brigham, which serves 2.5 million patients annually across its 15 hospitals and clinics, has suspended all non-urgent visits, procedures, and surgeries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-2 last:mb-0\">\u201cWe have dedicated every available resource to resolve this issue as quickly as possible, and we apologize for the inconvenience this has caused our patients,\u201d said a statement released by Mass General Brigham according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/health\/article-13651581\/global-microsoft-crowdstrike-outage-hospital-cancels-visits.html\">Daily Mail<\/a>. \u201cIt is our highest priority to ensure that our patients receive the safest care possible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-2 last:mb-0\">The healthcare giant reassured the public that they continue to provide care for all patients currently admitted in their hospitals.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-2 last:mb-0\">A notice released on their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.massgeneralbrigham.org\/en\">website<\/a> clarified the situation further:<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-2 last:mb-0\">\u201cA major worldwide software outage has affected many of our systems today. This means we are not able to access our clinical systems, including patient health records and scheduling.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-2 last:mb-0\">As a result, all non-urgent visits at all Mass General Brigham hospitals and clinics are cancelled for today, Friday, July 19, 2024. If you have a non-urgent visit scheduled, a care team member will reach out to you to reschedule.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-2 last:mb-0\">Please do not call to reschedule today. We are open for urgent appointments and procedures, and our emergency rooms remain open. We are working this to resolve this issue.
