Who could forget when he called for Donald Trump to drop out of the 2016 race following the Access Hollywood tape, suggesting Mike Pence as the Republican nominee? A move like that would have handed the presidency to Hillary Clinton on a silver platter.<\/p>\n<p>And now, Thune\u2014a McConnell prot\u00e9g\u00e9\u2014takes the reins as Majority Leader.<\/p>\n<p>The betrayal doesn\u2019t stop there. As many as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegatewaypundit.com\/2024\/11\/people-are-ped-up-30-senate-republicans-reportedly\/\">30 Republican senators<\/a> are reportedly planning to vote against Trump\u2019s nomination of Matt Gaetz as Attorney General.<\/p>\n<p>Gaetz, a fearless defender of the Constitution, has been tapped by Trump to clean up the Department of Justice and end its weaponization against conservatives.<\/p>\n<p>Predictably, the likes of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegatewaypundit.com\/2024\/11\/here-we-go-rino-senators-murkowski-collins-say\/\">Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins<\/a>\u2014the left wing of the GOP\u2014have already voiced their opposition. Republican Senator John Cornyn also said he \u201cabsolutely\u201d wants to review the House Ethics Committee\u2019s investigation of Matt Gaetz.<\/p>\n<p>But these three are just the tip of the iceberg in a Senate conference teeming with silent saboteurs.<\/p>\n<p>Also, <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/senate\/4993818-trump-cabinet-potential-obstacles\/\">The Hill<\/a> reported that these 9 senators are most likely to obstruct Trump\u2019s cabinet appointments:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lisa Murkowski (R-AK)<\/li>\n<li>Joni Ernst (R-IA)<\/li>\n<li>Todd Young (R-IN)<\/li>\n<li>Mitch McConnell (R-KY)<\/li>\n<li>Bill Cassidy (R-LA)<\/li>\n<li>Susan Collins (R-ME)<\/li>\n<li>Thom Tillis (R-NC)<\/li>\n<li>John Cornyn (R-TX)<\/li>\n<li>John Curtis (R-UT)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The GOP has purged anti-Trump RINOs before. Look no further than the historic defeat of Liz Cheney, who lost her seat by a humiliating margin.
