Whoopi Goldberg \/ The View<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The View\u00a0<\/em>co-host Whoopi Goldberg won\u2019t hear a bad word against Joe Biden.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday\u2019s edition of the ABC show, Goldberg got in a spat with fellow co-host and the show\u2019s token \u201cconservative,\u201d Alyssa Farah Griffin, when discussing Biden\u2019s decision to pardon his son Hunter on a variety of criminal charges.<\/p>\n

The pardon absolves Hunter of any and all federal crimes committed between 2014 and 2024, including those that he may still be charged with.<\/p>\n

The start date is the same year that Hunter joined the board of the Ukraine energy firm Burisma in an influence-peddling scheme allegedly involving his father.<\/p>\n

Here is a transcript of the exchange:<\/p>\n

GRIFFIN:<\/strong> I understand why you would do it, but I wonder if you understand why you lie about it for so long.<\/p>\n

GOLDBERG:<\/strong> I would stop calling it a lie.<\/p>\n

GRIFFIN<\/strong>: Okay, why repeatedly say you\u2019re not going to and you do? And secondarily, for the part of this country, half of it that doesn\u2019t support Biden, doesn\u2019t know him personally, doesn\u2019t get to have phone calls, and they\u2019re just looking at a system that seems like it only benefits the people who are in power. What precedent does that set?<\/p>\n

GOLDBERG:<\/strong> Well, here\u2019s what it sets. It\u2019s a precedent for all of us to open our eyes because we\u2019ve elected someone who is in a similar situation, who didn\u2019t have a drug problem, who knew what he was doing, who clearly stood and said, I can do this, and he did it.<\/p>\n

So I think, for many, many reasons, this is very different than any other situation that we have ever dealt with.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u201cNo reasonable person who looks at the facts of Hunter\u2019s cases can reach any other conclusion than Hunter was singled out only because he is my son \u2013 and that is wrong,\u201d Biden wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere has been an effort to break Hunter \u2013 who has been five and a half years sober, even in the face of unrelenting attacks and selective prosecution.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIn trying to break Hunter, they\u2019ve tried to break me \u2013 and there\u2019s no reason to believe it will stop here,\u201d he continued. \u201cEnough is enough.\u201d<\/p>\n
