Judge Aileen Cannon temporarily blocked Jack Smith\u2019s report on his lawfare investigation into President Trump.<\/p>\n

US Attorney General Merrick Garland previously said he would release Jack Smith\u2019s final report on Trump.<\/p>\n

Judge Cannon\u2019s temporary injunction lasts until three days after a federal appeals court issues a ruling on a pending motion to block Jack Smith\u2019s report in a case involving other defendants in the classified documents case.<\/p>\n

Lawyers for Trump\u2019s co-defendants Walt Nauta and Carlos De Oliviera asked Judge Cannon in a Monday night filing to block Jack Smith\u2019s report based on her previous ruling that the special counsel\u2019s appointment was unconstitutional.<\/p>\n

US Attorney General Merrick Garland is now blocked from releasing, sharing, or transmitting\u201d Jack Smith\u2019s final report \u2013 \u201cor any drafts of such Report outside the Department of Justice, or (b) otherwise releasing, distributing, conveying, or sharing with anyone outside the Department of Justice any information or conclusions in the Final Report or in drafts thereof.\u201d<\/p>\n

The federal judge who oversaw the classified documents case against President-elect Donald Trump issued an order Tuesday temporarily blocking the release of special counsel Jack Smith\u2019s report on his investigation.<\/p>\n

The injunction lasts until three days after the 11th Circuit rules on a pending request to block the release of the report over a separate matter involving Trump co-defendants Walt Nauta and Carlos De Oliveira.<\/p>\n

Lawyers for Nauta and De Oliveira filed a motion Monday night asking U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon to block the report, citing the judge\u2019s previous ruling that Smith\u2019s appointment was unconstitutional.<\/p>\n

Cannon said she was acting \u201cto preserve the status quo\u201d until the higher court rules on the issue.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Separately, Trump\u2019s lawyers have asked <\/a>Merrick Garland to fire Jack Smith and block the release of his final report.<\/p>\n
