There has been a lot of criticism of DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) policies recently but this has been going on for years.<\/p>\n
Several years ago, comedian Adam Carolla told a story under testimony that he once applied to become a firefighter in Los Angeles but was told he would have to wait years to even take the test because he is a white male.<\/p>\n
This is a perfect example of how these policies are destructive. These areas in California are complaining that they don\u2019t have enough firefighters. Is there any wonder why?<\/p>\n
OutKick<\/a> has details:<\/p>\n Adam Carolla Says He Was Rejected From LA Fire Department Because Of His Race<\/strong><\/p>\n Most reasonable people would also assume that for something as important as fighting fires, politics would take a backseat to creating the most prepared, efficient, effective force possible. But reasonable people generally don\u2019t exist in Los Angeles government.<\/p>\n One such tragically hilarious example came 8 years ago in Congressional testimony from comedian and podcast host Adam Carolla. Carolla explained that he applied to be a firefighter for Los Angeles earlier in his life and was told he had to wait 7 years to return to take the examination because he wasn\u2019t a member of a racial or gender minority.<\/p>\n \u201cGeez. I want to talk about my white privilege so badly,\u201d he said. \u201cI graduated North Hollywood High with a 1.7 GPA and could not find a job. I walked to a fire station. I was 19 and living in the garage of my family home and my mom was on welfare and food stamps. I said, \u2018Can I get a job as a fireman?\u2019 and they said, \u2018No, because you\u2019re not black, Hispanic or a woman and we\u2019ll see you in about 7 years.\u2019\u201d\u2026<\/p>\n \u201cI had a young woman of color standing behind me in line, and I said to her, \u2018Just out of curiosity, when did you sign up to become a fire man?\u2019 \u2026 she said, \u2018Wednesday.\u2019 That is an example of my white privilege.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n Watch the video below:<\/p>\n California is on fire because of DEI@adamcarolla<\/a> applied to be a fireman in LA and was told to wait 7 years to test because he\u2019s white <\/p>\n 7 years later when he took the test he asked a black women there how long she waited to test.
