Fani Willis is fighting back after a Georgia Appeals court booted her from the Trump RICO case.<\/p>\n

As\u00a0reported\u00a0<\/a>earlier, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and her entire office were disqualified from prosecuting Trump in their lawfare RICO case.<\/p>\n

The appeals court did not throw out the charges, however, Fani Willis and her office have \u201cno authority to proceed.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Georgia Appeals Court disqualified Fani Willis because of an appearance of impropriety.<\/p>\n

Fani Willis asked the Georgia Supreme Court to put her back on the case ahead of Trump\u2019s inauguration.<\/p>\n

The Georgia Supreme Court did not need to take up Fani Willis\u2019 appeal.<\/p>\n

Even if the Georgia Supreme Court sides with Fani Willis, Trump will be in office as of next Monday at noon.<\/p>\n

However, there are still at least 14 other co-defendants on this case who may have to continue to fight Fani Willis.<\/p>\n

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has asked Georgia\u2019s highest court to review a lower appeals court\u2019s ruling that removed her from the Georgia election interference case against President-elect Donald Trump and others.<\/p>\n

In December, the Georgia Court of Appeals ruled that Willis and her office could not continue to prosecute the case because of an \u201cappearance of impropriety\u201d created by a romantic relationship she had with special prosecutor Nathan Wade, whom she had hired to lead the case. In a petition filed late Wednesday, Willis asked the Georgia Supreme Court to review and reverse that decision.<\/p>\n

Willis\u2019 filing argues that the 2-1 ruling \u201coverreached the Court of Appeals\u2019 authority,\u201d creating a new standard for disqualification of a prosecutor and disregarding decades of precedent.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
