As the Presidential swearing-in ceremony Monday has been moved indoors and presumably heightened security measures are put into place for the two-time survivor of assassination attempts, DC residents and visitors can expect many road and transit closures.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

As The Gateway Pundit reported that President Trump announced his ceremony will be held inside the Capitol Rotunda, citing cold weather. However, there have also been concerns about Trump\u2019s safety following the two recent assassination attempt.<\/p>\n

News of a White House ceremony follows the decision of several local police departments around Washington, DC, to\u00a0reportedly decline to assist<\/a> with security for Trump\u2019s inauguration on Monday.<\/p>\n

The US Capitol Police said in a statement Friday,<\/p>\n

\u201cAt the request of the President-elect and the Presidential Inaugural Committee, the 60th Inauguration will be held inside the U.S. Capitol Rotunda. The ticketed areas outside, on the West Front of the U.S. Capitol, will now be closed to ticketed guests on Monday, January 20, due to the extremely cold weather that is expected in Washington, D.C. The United States Capitol Police, along with our law enforcement partners, will still have a heightened security posture with an increased law enforcement presence and layers of physical security. The security perimeter is the same. For potential changes to road closures and other inauguration security information, please visit <\/em>https:\/\/inauguration.dc.gov\/<\/em><\/a>, or contact <\/em>nsse.jic@dc.gov<\/em><\/a>.\u201d<\/em>\u2013 The United States Capitol Police<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The United States Secret Service also released a statement this morning, notifying the public of “additional vehicular, public transportation and pedestrian impacts” around the Capitol One Arena, where President Trump will hold a rally Sunday.<\/p>\n

The U.S. Secret Service and our partners are working in close coordination with the Presidential Inaugural Committee and the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies to adapt our security plans as needed due to the inclement weather expected during Monday’s Presidential Inauguration. As part of our National Special Security Event planning process, we account for various contingencies, including inclement weather. While details are being finalized, additional vehicular, public transportation and pedestrian impacts should be expected in the area around the Capital One Arena. While these adjustments will undoubtedly affect the people of Washington, D.C., the goal of the Secret Service and our partners is to provide the most secure environment, while minimizing impact to residents and businesses.<\/p>\n
