General Mark Milley is a very relieved man.<\/p>\n

Hours before Donald Trump takes office as the 47th president, Joe Biden pre-emptively pardoned Milley alongside Dr. Anthony Fauci, former Congresswoman Liz Cheney and members of the January 6th committee.<\/p>\n

Milley, a former U.S. Army General who served as\u00a0chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff under Donald Trump and Joe Biden, committed an act of treason in the final days of the Trump presidency by contacting the Chinese Foreign Minister on behalf of the American deep state without the permission of the commander-in-chief.<\/p>\n

During the 2024 presidential campaign, Milley also described<\/a> Trump as a \u201cfascist,\u201d amounting to a a tacit endorsement of Kamala Harris.<\/p>\n

With the prospect of criminal charges for this act of subversion, Milley has admitted he is \u201cdeeply grateful\u201d that he will not face justice for his crimes.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy family and I are deeply grateful for the President\u2019s action today,\u201d Milley said in a statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter forty-three years of faithful service in uniform to our Nation, protecting and defending the Constitution, I do not wish to spend whatever remaining time the Lord grants me fighting those who unjustly might seek retribution for perceived slights,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

\u201dI do not want to put my family, my friends, and those with whom I served through the resulting distraction, expense, and anxiety.\u201d<\/p>\n

In his statement on Monday, Biden said that Milley had and other public servants \u201cserved our nation with honor and distinction And do not deserve to be the targets of unjustified and politically motivated prosecutions.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cGeneral Milley served our nation for more than 40 years, serving in multiple command and leadership posts and deploying to some of the most dangerous parts of the world to protect and defend democracy,\u201d his statement read.<\/p>\n

\u201dAs Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, he guided our Armed Forces through complex global security threats and strengthened our existing alliances while forging new ones.\u201d<\/p>\n
