Randi Weingarten, the head of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), is not happy about Trump\u2019s plan to shut down the Department of Education.<\/a><\/p>\n Naturally, she ran straight to far left MSNBC to complain.<\/p>\n The surprising thing, which you\u2019ll see if you watch the video below, is that she and the MSNBC host admit that education is supposed to be handled locally, not by the federal government. You\u2019ll also notice that Weingarten repeatedly talks about money and funding, which is probably what this is all about in the end.<\/p>\n She also pushes the tired Democrat talking point that this is all about tax breaks for billionaires.<\/p>\n The Daily Caller<\/a> reports:<\/p>\n Teachers Union Leader Suggests Without Evidence That Trump Is Pulling Student Funding To Pay \u2018Billionaires\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n American Federation of Teachers (AFT) President Randi Weingarten suggested without evidence Tuesday that President Donald Trump is snatching money away from funding public education to give to \u201cbillionaires.\u201d<\/p>\n The Trump administration has reportedly begun drafting an executive order to eliminate the Department of Education (DOE) and direct Congress to pass legislation to officially dissolve the agency, after having repeatedly stated that public education should be managed by states. Weingarten claimed that Trump intends to use the money directed toward public schools and allocate it toward tax cuts for billionaires.<\/p>\n \u201cCongress appropriates the money directly for these kids. Where\u2019s the money going? Who\u2019s taking it? Are they trying to take that money that kids get for tax cuts for billionaires? What\u2019s going on? That\u2019s why we have to see what they\u2019re doing.
