President Trump just did what every other politician only talked about\u2014he took a sledgehammer to Big Pharma. With the stroke of a pen, he signed an executive order that could slash drug prices by as\u00a0much as 90%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

And then RFK Jr. stepped up and revealed why no one else\u2014not even Bernie Sanders\u2014ever followed through.<\/p>\n

It was a moment you\u2019ll remember for decades. Standing before reporters and his healthcare team, President Trump announced the most aggressive move on drug pricing America has ever seen. The plan? To\u00a0cut prescription drug costs by up to 90%<\/strong>\u2014a direct strike against the industry that\u2019s drained American families dry for years.<\/p>\n

\u201cStarting today, the United States will no longer subsidize the health care of foreign countries, which is what we were doing,\u201d Trump said. \u201cWe were subsidizing others\u2019 health care, countries where they paid a small fraction of what for the same drug that what we pay many, many times more for.\u201d<\/p>\n

This wasn\u2019t just about reining in corporate greed. Trump laid it out clearly: this was a global scam, and America was the one footing the bill.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd [we] will no longer tolerate profiteering and price gouging from Big Pharma<\/strong>,\u201d he added. \u201cBut again, it was really the countries that forced Big Pharma to do things that frankly, I\u2019m not sure they really felt comfortable doing, but they\u2019ve gotten away with it, these countries, European Union has been brutal, brutal.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump promised that would change. \u201cSo for the first time in many years, we\u2019ll slash the cost of prescription drugs and we will bring fairness to America.\u201d<\/p>\n

How much cheaper? \u201cIf you think of a drug that is sometimes ten times more expensive, it\u2019s much more than the 59%\u2026 but between 59 and 80, and I guess even 90%.\u201d<\/p>\n

For struggling families, this wasn\u2019t just reform. It was real relief.<\/p>\n\n

Then came the reveal that changed everything. HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. stood beside the president and exposed one of Washington\u2019s best-kept secrets. It wasn\u2019t just corruption\u2014it was betrayal.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is an extraordinary day,\u201d Kennedy began. \u201cThis is an issue that, you know, I grew up in the Democratic Party, and every major Democratic leader for 20 years has been making this promise to the American people.\u201d<\/p>\n

He pointed straight to Bernie Sanders, who made drug pricing the core of his presidential campaigns. \u201cThis was the fulcrum of Bernie Sanders runs for presidency, that he was going to eliminate this discrepancy between Europe and the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n

But none of them actually meant to fix it.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs it turns out, none of them were doing it. And it\u2019s one of these promises that politicians make to their constituents,\u00a0knowing that they\u2019ll never have to do it<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Why not? Because the system was never meant to be fixed.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s at least one pharmaceutical lobbyist for every congressman, every Senator on Capitol Hill, and every member of the Supreme Court,\u201d\u00a0<\/strong>Kennedy said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere has never been a president more willing to stand up to the oligarchs than President Donald Trump,\u201d he added. \u201cAnd I\u2019m very, very proud of you, Mr. President, for your courage, for I\u2019ll say it because I don\u2019t want to be crude, your intestinal fortitude, your stiff spine and your willingness to stand up for the American people.\u201d<\/p>\n

With one line, RFK Jr. shattered the bipartisan charade\u2014and gave Trump credit no Democrat had the guts to say out loud.<\/p>\n\n

Then Dr. Oz came with a line that hit hard.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the most powerful executive order on pharmacy pricing and healthcare ever in the history of our nation.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

He explained how Americans were stuck paying\u00a0five to ten times more<\/strong>\u00a0than Europeans for the exact same drugs\u2014and why that ends now.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s only happening because we have a president with the fortitude, the guts to stand up to the withering criticism and lobbying that\u2019s going to occur as soon as folks hear about the executive order,\u201d said the head of CMS.<\/p>\n

Dr. Oz made it personal. \u201cOn behalf of the child in Philadelphia with a $1,000-a-month drug, or the older woman in L.A. who can\u2019t afford her blood thinner\u2014I\u2019m going to thank President Trump. God bless you for having the guts to take on this industry.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said Trump\u2019s plan will force other countries to start paying their fair share, just like with NATO.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen President Trump said you\u2019ve got to pay a little more, they came up. The same thing we believe will happen here.\u201d<\/p>\n

Negotiations with drug companies start in 30 days. For the first time ever, prices will be tied to global benchmarks.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re going to be able to get the pharmaceutical industry whole\u2014and finally pay the appropriate amount.\u201d<\/p>\n\n

Then NIH Director Jay Bhattacharya took the mic and called it what it was: long overdue.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat President Trump has done is a historic measure that should have been done a long time ago<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n

He explained the economics behind the scam. \u201cOne thing that\u2019s really, really simple in economics is that when you have a persistent price difference for the same product between two countries, there\u2019s something deeply wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bhattacharya said Americans were being used to fund global research and development, and that ends now.<\/p>\n

\u201cRight now, what\u2019s happening is the American people are subsidizing, in a large fraction, the research and development efforts for drug companies around the world,\u00a0by the higher prices that we pay<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWith this new order,\u00a0Europe will share the burden of that<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n

This wasn\u2019t new information. The facts have been known for decades. But no one acted\u2014until now.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re standing up for the American consumer who\u2019s been paying far too high prices for far too long.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd nothing has been done about it until this moment.\u201d<\/p>\n

He turned to the president and said, \u201cI\u2019m really, really proud, President Trump, that you have done this, and I\u2019m really proud to be included in this and looking forward to the work ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n\n

And just before signing, the press tried to crash the moment. Trump made it clear: Democrats were now in a tough spot.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re now, on top of the tax cuts and regulation cuts, all the things,\u00a0now you\u2019re going to say that the price of your medicine is going down by 60, 70, 80%. You\u2019re going to vote against it?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cI think a lot of Democrats will be forced to do something that their leaders are going to beg them not to do, and that\u2019s vote for the bill.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t see how they can vote against it.\u201d<\/p>\n

That\u2019s when ABC jumped in with a question about a jet from Qatar, implying it was a personal gift to Trump.<\/p>\n

Without skipping a beat, Trump fired back. \u201cYou\u2019re ABC fake news, right?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cLet me tell you, you should be embarrassed asking that question. They\u2019re giving us a free jet. I could say no, no, no. Don\u2019t give us. I want to pay you a billion or $400 million or whatever it is. Or I can say thank you very much.\u201d<\/p>\n

When she pressed again, Trump hit even harder.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not a gift to me, it\u2019s a gift to the Department of Defense. You should know better.\u00a0Because you\u2019ve been embarrassed enough, and so has your network<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYour network is a disaster. ABC is a disaster,\u201d Trump added.<\/p>\n

Finally, Trump lifted the bill and called Kennedy up beside him. \u201cHere is the bill, Bobby, come on over here.\u201d<\/p>\n

The media tried to ruin the moment\u2014but couldn\u2019t. The story was too big, too impactful, and too undeniably positive for the American people to spin.<\/p>\n
