Parents Demanding Justice Alliance Issues Urgent Call to Congress for Action on DOJ Targeting of Parents<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Parents Demanding Justice Alliance has released a formal memo to members of Congress demanding swift accountability for the Department of Justice\u2019s targeting of concerned school parents.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The memo calls for immediate investigation and full redress for parents who were unjustly surveilled, investigated, and maligned for expressing legitimate concerns at local school board meetings and schools. These actions, the Alliance asserts, constituted a severe abuse of federal power and a violation of First Amendment rights.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Parents Demanding Justice Alliance is composed of advocates around the nation, united in pressing for full accountability regarding the DOJ\u2019s targeting of parents who expressed good-faith concerns at school board meetings and schools\u2014a directive now under review by President Trump\u2019s Weaponization Working Group,\u201d explains Seak Smith, Founder of Mom Army & Dad Army<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Alliance cites the February 5, 2025 memo from the Office of the Attorney General titled Restoring the Integrity and Credibility of the Department of Justice<\/em><\/a>, which reaffirmed President Trump\u2019s directive to reverse what he called the \u201cunprecedented, third-world weaponization of prosecutorial power.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Alliance also points to the language in the Executive Order: Ending the Weaponization of the Federal Government:<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Department of Justice must take immediate and overdue<\/strong> steps to restore integrity and credibility with the public that we are charged with protecting, and to ensure that the Department\u2019s personnel are ready and willing to faithfully implement the policy agenda of the duly elected President of the United States\u2026The American people have witnessed the previous administration engage in a systematic campaign against its perceived political opponents, weaponizing the legal force of numerous Federal law enforcement agencies and the Intelligence Community.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cWe previously drafted a letter urging Kash Patel and the FBI to act,\u201d says Alliance Founder, Kelly John Walker<\/strong> Walker. \u201cWhat we need\u2014and expect\u2014is swift and decisive action.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Alliance calls on Congressman Andy Ogles (TN) <\/strong>and his congressional colleagues to \u201cjoin our Alliance in pressing for a full investigation into the DOJ\u2019s assault on parents\u2019 First Amendment rights\u2014and to fight relentlessly until the families wronged by their own government receive formal apologies and full restitution.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThese families continue to endure severe financial strain, emotional trauma, and reputational damage as a result of being unjustly targeted. Every day without action compounds their suffering,\u201d said Walker. \u201cOur elected representatives have a moral and constitutional duty to protect their constituents from unlawful federal overreach and ensure justice is served.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Alliance acknowledges prior engagement from Reps. Ogles, Crane, Jordan, Gosar, and Biggs<\/strong>, whose staff met with Alliance members in Washington in March 2024.<\/p>\n

But the Alliance emphasized that \u201cthis matter must rise to the top of Congress\u2019s priorities without further delay.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n
