Leftist reporters have been coming after President Trump for years in various ways, but trying to call him a coward is undoubtedly a new approach. Not surprisingly, the president responded brilliantly to one who attempted this tactic today. <\/p>\n

As The Gateway Pundit\u2019s Jordan Conradson reported<\/a>, Trump on Wednesday attended the swearing in of former New York prosecutor, judge, and television personality Jeanine Pirro as Interim US Attorney for the District of Columbia. Trump promised she would \u201cbe an exceptional US Attorney for the District of Columbia\u201d and there would be \u201cvery, very big improvements in the DC area.\u201d<\/p>\n

During the ceremony\u2019s question-and-answer session, a so-called reporter portrayed Trump as a \u2018chicken\u2019 because of his approach to negotiating tariffs. Liberal stockbrokers have been reportedly<\/a> telling one another to TACO (Trump Always Chickens Out) when hedging their bets on Trump\u2019s trade policies. <\/p>\n

REPORTER: Wall Street analysts have coined a term called the \u2018TACO trade.\u2019 They\u2019re saying that Trump always chickens out on his tariff threats.\u201d What is your response to that?<\/p>\n

TRUMP: \u201cIsn\u2019t that nice? I \u2018chickened out?\u2019 I never heard that.<\/p>\n

You mean because I reduced China from 145%, that I set down to 100%, then to another number? And I said, \u2018You have to open your whole country?\u2019<\/p>\n

And because I gave the European Union a 50% tariff? And they called up and they said, please, let\u2019s meet right now. Please, let\u2019s meet right now? And I said, OK, I\u2019ll give you until\u2026July 9th?\u201d<\/p>\n

And after I did what I did, they said, \u2018We\u2019ll meet anytime you want.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cYou call that chickening out? Because we have $14 trillion now invested, committed to investing, when Biden didn\u2019t have practically anything. This country was dying.<\/p>\n

We have the hottest country anywhere in the world\u2026Six months ago, this country was stone-cold dead. We had a country that was not going to survive, and you ask a nasty question. It\u2019s called negotiation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

You set a number. You know, if I set a number at a ridiculous high number and I go down a little bit, you know, a little bit, they want me to hold that number, 145% tariff.<\/p>\n

Even I said, man, that got really up there\u2026.They were doing no business whatsoever, and they were having a lot of problems. We were very nice to China. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
