The O\u2019Keefe Media Group on Thursday released undercover video of a Nevada Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Division of Welfare and Supportive Services specialist admitting to bending the rules to provide benefits for illegal aliens.<\/p>\n

\u201cI get them emergency medical all the time\u2026 I just approve them for 12 months because I can,\u201d Nevada DHHS specialist Deshaun Eli Mack said.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven undocumented people from Mexico and things; I can still get them benefits,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Deshaun Eli Mack, a Family Services Specialist with the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), has been caught on hidden camera admitting to intentionally violating state policies to provide government-funded benefits to undocumented immigrants.<\/p>\n

Mack detailed how he manipulates the system to offer extended emergency Medicaid coverage to illegals, stating, \u201cI get them emergency medical all the time\u2026 just because I want to.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Mack, emergency Medicaid for undocumented immigrants is supposed to be granted on a month-to-month basis and only for severe, qualifying conditions. However, he confessed that he bypasses this process entirely. \u201cThey\u2019re supposed to apply every month,\u201d he said, \u201cso I just approve them for 12 months\u2026 because I can.\u201d<\/p>\n

When asked if that kind of discretion was allowed, Mack responded bluntly: \u201cI make it so. I bend the rules a lot.\u201d He added later, \u201cI will twist and turn our provisions to fit the way that I want them to be.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mack also acknowledged a culture within the agency of avoiding cooperation with federal immigration authorities, stating, \u201cWe would never call ICE. We do not work with them ever.\u201d<\/p>\n

When pressed on whether this behavior amounted to subverting the law, Mack didn\u2019t hesitate: \u201cI do that a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Deshaun Mack initially told OMG: \u201cI don\u2019t [break the law], because I\u2019m not.\u201d<\/p>\n

When OMG showed Deshaun Mack his own recorded statements, he said, \u201cI say a lot of things that I don\u2019t mean\u201d and eventually admitted, \u201cI lie all the time.\u201d He suggested he may have exaggerated to impress the undercover journalist, saying, \u201cAbsolutely,\u201d when asked if that was the reason for his comments. Despite the specificity of his original statements, Mack ultimately claimed, \u201cNone of those words I said were true.\u201d<\/p>\n
