In an interview with NBC News\u2019s Jacob Soboroff, scheduled to air on Sunday evening, Homan discussed the riots that have been taking place in California, attempting to stop them from picking up illegal aliens for deportation.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe rhetoric is so high against ICE officers in this city that it\u2019s a matter of time before someone gets seriously hurt,\u201d Homan said. \u201cWe\u2019ve got help coming, and we\u2019re going to do our job, and we\u2019re going to continue doing that job.\u201d<\/p>\n
California Gov. Gavin Newsom and LA Mayor Karen Bass have both been increasingly vocal about opposing the ICE raids, as well as President Donald Trump\u2019s decision to send in 2,000 members of the National Guard to stop the rioting.<\/p>\n
Soboroff asked Homan if his previous warning that anyone in the way of ICE would be arrested applies to Newsom and Bass.<\/p>\n
Homan responded that he would \u201csay that about anybody.\u201d<\/p>\n

The border czar said he does not believe Bass has \u201ccrossed the line yet,\u201d but said \u201cwe will ask DOJ to prosecute\u201d if things escalate.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat we\u2019re saying is we\u2019re not going to tolerate people attacking our officers,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Regarding Newsom, Homan called him \u201can embarrassment for the state.\u201d<\/p>\n
