House passes NPR, PBS, and USAID spending cuts<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The House of Representatives passed the $9.4 billion rescissions package on Thursday to cut wasteful discretionary spending on NPR, PBS, and USAID.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The House advanced the legislation to a final floor vote on Wednesday, The Gateway Pundit reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This includes cuts to National Public Radio (NPR), Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), and the\u00a0U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). $8.3 billion is set to be cut from the USAID, the far left agency that the Trump Administration has accused of\u00a0funding foreign programs that do little to advance American interests.<\/p>\n

The President ordered<\/a> NPR and PBS to be defunded last month. The recissions package cuts\u00a0over $1 billion from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB).<\/p>\n

As The Gateway Pundit reported, President Trump signed the \u201cEnding Taxpayer Subsidization of Biased Media\u201d executive order, which directs the CPB Board of Directors to \u201ccease Federal funding for NPR and PBS.\u201d<\/p>\n

The House voted 214-212 to pass the spending cuts.<\/p>\n

Four republicans voted against these cuts that the President has called for. Mark Amodei (R-NV), Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY), and Mike Turner (R-OH) were all nay votes.<\/p>\n
