Israel\u2019s all-out attack on the nuclear weapons infrastructure and leadership of Iran has created an historic choice: Will Israel be allowed to defeat decisively the existential threat long posed by the tyrannical Iranian regime both to her people\u00a0and ours<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 and, thereby, usher in an era of potential strategic stability aligned with Western civilization that the Middle East and the free world have rarely known?<\/p>\n

Or will the United States interfere, as it has done consistently in the past, to prevent such a clear-cut victory \u2013 and, thereby, ensure that Israel\u2019s enemies, and ours, live to fight another day?<\/p>\n

The answer is essentially up to President Donald Trump. And how he comes down may depend on whether he is being properly informed of the options and opportunities versus their associated risks.<\/p>\n

Or is he being disserved by those who profess to speak for the America First movement, but actually seem to be putting Iran First and Qatar First.<\/p>\n

Fortunately, Mr. Trump appears to have, as usual, grasped the central issue: In comments on June 14th<\/sup>\u00a0responding to Tucker Carlson\u2019s criticism of \u201cU.S. support for Israel during its attacks on Iran as\u2026anathema to the \u2018America First\u2019 way of doing things,\u201d the President told\u00a0The Atlantic<\/em>\u2019s Michael Scherer:<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, considering that I\u2019m the one that developed \u201cAmerica First,\u201d and considering that the term wasn\u2019t used until I came along, I think I\u2019m the one that decides that. For those people who say they want peace \u2013 you can\u2019t have peace if Iran has a nuclear weapon. So, for all of those wonderful people who don\u2019t want to do anything about Iran having a nuclear weapon \u2013 that\u2019s not peace.\u201d<\/p>\n

Presumably, that clarity will translate into further support for Israel\u2019s comprehensive take-down of the Iranian nuclear weapons program and its destruction of Iran\u2019s capacity to fight on thanks to surviving second- and third-tier regime leadership \u2013 many of whom are reputed to be even more psychopathic and apocalyptic than those more senior clerics and officers thankfully neutralized to date.<\/p>\n

Whether that is so may turn on the quality of the advice President Trump is receiving. In addition to non-official influencers like the increasingly critical Tucker Carlson, he may be getting bad advice from an Obama-Biden holdover-dominated intelligence community that wrongly contends Iran does not have a nuclear weapons program; Under Secretary of Defense Elbridge Colby and Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for the Middle East Michael DiMino; and others who portray themselves as \u201cnationalists,\u201d \u201crealists\u201d and champions of \u201crestraint.\u201d<\/p>\n

In fact, they are advocating a formula for a truly \u201cendless war\u201d in the Middle East. Stopping Israel from finishing the job \u2013 whether by cutting off the supply of weapons it requires to prosecute the war or by otherwise interfering with its pursuit \u2013 will mean that some residual nuclear program remains in the hands of Sharia-supremacists who remain and are determined to destroy both Israel and the United States. The U.S. military will inevitably be required to contend with the calamity that will follow.<\/p>\n

In other words, instead of an exemplary application of the Trump Doctrine \u2013 whereby our allies are strong and able decisively to defend their interests\u00a0and ours<\/em>\u00a0in their dangerous neighborhoods with U.S. support (e.g., defensive support, intelligence, access to munitions and political cover) but not direct, offensive engagement \u2013 we would have a true and costly quagmire.<\/p>\n

This is a time when President Trump must have access to his best military advice from Joint Chiefs Chairman General Daniel \u201cRaisin\u201d Caine and Central Command\u2019s General Michael \u201cErik\u201d Kurilla about both the opportunities, as well as the risks, associated with Israel having the time, wherewithal and diplomatic leeway to pursue successfully a decisive victory.<\/p>\n

Not least, the President is entitled to hear that the utter destruction of the Chinese Communists\u2019 most important regional ally by ours is arguably the single most important step we can take at the moment to deter their aggression elsewhere. It may even translate into a decision on the part of members of the BRICS \u2013 especially South Africa \u2013 that it is not in their interest to advance the group\u2019s agenda of taking down the dollar as the world\u2019s reserve currency.<\/p>\n

All we are saying is give peace a\u00a0real\u00a0<\/em>chance by making Donald Trump\u2019s legacy in the Middle East the only one worthy of the name: ensuring that Israel and America are decisively victorious over the Sharia-supremacist regime that has for far too long enslaved the Iranian people and threatened and actually\u00a0killed\u00a0<\/em>ours and those of the Jewish state.<\/p>\n
