Jim Acosta, the super serious journalist who was so good at his CNN job that he no longer works there, recently warned an audience that the right has figured out a way to \u2018infiltrate the heartland.\u2019<\/p>\n
Who wants to tell him?<\/p>\n
Has Acosta even looked at an American electoral map recently? It\u2019s a little bit of blue on the edges, separated by a sea of nearly solid red and it has been that way for a long time.<\/p>\n
The Daily Caller<\/a> has details:<\/p>\n Former CNN host Jim Acosta claimed on Tuesday that farmers are being \u201cled astray\u201d and voting for \u201cfar-right\u201d candidates in U.S. elections.<\/p>\n Acosta stated during a Center For American Progress discussion that the \u201cfar-right\u201d has figured out how to \u201cinfiltrate the heartland\u201d and get farmers to side with the political right. While name dropping the late conservative host Rush Limbaugh, Acosta argued that many Americans are not getting their information from reliable news.<\/p>\n \u201cThe far-right in this country has kind of figured out a way to infiltrate the heartland and to basically to pull Ma and Pa from the farm to their point of view,\u201d Acosta said. \u201cAnd as it turns out, a lot of these folks vote in these elections and a lot of those folks have been completely led astray. I hate to say it, but they\u2019ve just been completely led astray. And we\u2019ve all just let this happen on our watch with essentially a business model for delivering the news in this country that just does not work anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n Here\u2019s the video:<\/p>\n ACOSTA: “The far-right has figured out a way to infiltrate the heartland.”<\/p>\n “As it turns out, a lot of those folks vote in these elections.”<\/p>\n “The business model for delivering the news in this country just does not work anymore.”<\/p>\n\n
