Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth caused a Democrat senator to go completely bonkers before the Senate today after utterly humiliating <\/a>dim-witted Senator Mazie Hirono earlier.<\/p>\n

As The Gateway Pundit reported<\/a>, Hegseth testified before the Senate Armed Services Committee on Wednesday regarding the Pentagon\u2019s budget request.<\/p>\n

During the hearing, he was asked multiple questions regarding the Iran-Israel conflict and military deployments in Los Angeles. However, Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) decided to take a different approach and badger Hegseth about General Timothy Haugh, who was fired <\/a>in April after President Trump met with independent journalist Laura Loomer (who claimed credit for his dismissal).<\/p>\n

\u201cWere you consulted regarding General Haugh\u2019s dismissal, yes or no?\u201d she demanded.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, senator, I would not advise believing everything you read in the media, and I\u2019m consulted on every single decision. I\u2019m the decision maker for the department, and we all serve at the pleasure of the President,\u201d Hegseth replied.<\/p>\n

\u201cDid you approve of Mr. Haugh\u2019s dismissal?\u201d Rosen asked. \u201cDid you personally relieve him?\u201d<\/p>\n

After Hegseth seemingly confirmed that he did, Rosen requested a reason for the firing. Hegseth played it smart by saying that Trump \u201cdeserves the type of commanders and advisors that he thinks will best equip him to accomplish the mission.\u201d<\/p>\n

After Rosen demanded whether Hegseth was in contact with Loomer (Hegseth declined to answer), Rosen tried to embarrass him with a gotcha question.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, do you believe it is appropriate for any social media personality to influence personnel decisions in your department, yes or no?\u201d Rosen asked.<\/p>\n

Upon hearing this, Hegseth quipped while appearing to smirk: \u201cI believe your time is up, Senator.\u201d<\/p>\n

Seeing Hegseth refuse to play her game caused Rosen to lose her mind.<\/p>\n

Rosen then closed by flipping out over what she saw as a smirk from Hegseth.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou are unserious\u2026It is a dangerous and pivotal time in our nation\u2019s history,\u201d she whined. \u201cI yield back, and I don\u2019t appreciate the smirk, sir. You are the Secretary of Defense!\u201d<\/p>\n
