Major media outlets are demanding the release of the probable cause affidavit behind the FBI\u2019s raid of Trump\u2019s Florida residence.<\/p>\n
Conservative watchdog Judicial Watch<\/a> also demanded the release of the affidavit.<\/p>\n Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton issued the following statement in response the Biden Justice Department\u2019s opposition to Judicial Watch\u2019s Motion to Unseal:<\/p>\n It seems like the Biden Justice Department is telling the court what to do. Respectfully, the court should make its own independent assessment of the compelling public interest in transparency about this abusive raid.\u00a0 The \u2018criminal investigation\u2019 the Biden administration is covering up reeks of corruption and dishonesty \u2013 and is based on a reinvention of law about presidential records that is at odds with the U.S. Constitution, court rulings, federal statutes, and prior government legal positions and practice. No administration should be able to raid the home of a former president and putative presidential candidate based on \u2018secret\u2019 reasons.<\/p>\n The U.S. Constitution and federal law give unreviewable authority to President Trump to take whatever records he wishes at the end of his presidency. The Biden administration\u2019s dishonest depiction of personal records of President Trump it illicitly seized during the raid as \u201cclassified\u201d is further demonstration that the raid was a brazen act of raw political abuse.<\/p>\n A federal judge on Thursday ordered the Justice Department to unseal only a portion of the probable cause affidavit.<\/p>\n The judge is allowing the Justice Department to make redactions!<\/p>\n A redacted version of the affidavit was ordered to be turned over by next Thursday.<\/p>\n NBC News reported<\/a>:<\/p>\n A federal judge on Thursday ordered the Justice Department to unseal at least some of the probable cause affidavit used to secure a search of former President Donald Trump\u2019s Florida estate.<\/p>\n \u201cOn my initial careful review \u2026 there are portions of it that can be unsealed,\u201d Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart said after a hearing where a top government lawyer contended the document\u2019s release could jeopardize an investigation that is still in its \u201cearly stages.\u201d<\/p>\n Reinhart said he would \u201cgive the government a full and fair opportunity\u201d to make redactions to the document, and ordered them to turn in the redacted version by next Thursday. He said he would then review the document and either order its release if he agrees with the redaction or hold a closed-door hearing with the government if he disagrees.<\/p>\n Nearly 3 dozen federal agents descended on Mar-a-Lago on Monday and rummaged through Trump\u2019s belongings without the former president\u2019s lawyers present.<\/p>\n Garland basically admitted the\u00a0feds have nothing on President Trump<\/a>.
