In the high-profile trial of disgraced mogul rapper Sean \u2018Diddy\u2019 Combs, there is an ongoing dispute as to whether he will be granted bail pending his October 3 sentencing.<\/p>\n

Judge Arun Subramanian has already denied four bail requests, and is not expected to change his mind now \u2013 but a surprising development may change the course of the decision.<\/p>\n

Diddy\u2019s ex-girlfriend Virginia \u201cGina\u201d Huynh, who was supposed to testify under pseudonym \u2013 but severed contects with prosecutors \u2013 wrote a letter to the judge asking for him to be released on bail ahead of his sentencing.<\/p>\n

People<\/a> reported:<\/p>\n

\u201cHuynh, who was referred to \u201cVictim-3\u201d in Combs\u2019 indictment, identified herself by name for the first time and asked the judge to grant the music mogul bond to [\u2026] \u2018allow him to continue caring for his family and fulfilling his responsibilities while still subject to the Court\u2019s supervision\u2019.<\/em><\/p>\n

The letter was submitted to the court on Sunday, Aug. 3, by Combs\u2019 defense team. Huynh also wrote that she does not believe Combs is a danger to the public and that he is a committed \u2018family man \u2026 who has not been violent in many years\u2019. \u2018I believe it is important for the Court to have a full picture of who he is beyond the allegations\u2019, she added.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201c\u2019Our relationship, like many, was not always perfect, we experienced ups and downs, and mistakes were made but he was willing to acknowledge his mistakes and make better decisions in the future\u2019, Huynh continued in the letter. \u2018Over the years that followed, he made visible efforts to become a better person and to address the harm he had caused. By the time our relationship ended, he embodied an energy of love, patience and gentleness that was markedly different from his past behavior\u2019.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Huynh wrote that Diddy \u2018has substantial ties to his family and community, including children who depend on him for emotional and financial support\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cBefore Combs\u2019 trial began, prosecutors alerted the court that they could no longer locate Huynh (then known only as \u2018Victim-3\u2019) and said they had lost touch with both her and her attorney.<\/em><\/p>\n

She was referenced several times in the government\u2019s indictment of Combs, but she never testified in his trial.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
