Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton launched an investigation into Beto O\u2019Rourke\u2019s PAC for unlawfully funding runaway Democrats.<\/p>\n

It was reported <\/a>this week that Beto\u2019s PAC funded the private plane that transported the Texas Democrat lawmakers to Illinois so they could block GOP redistricting efforts. <\/p>\n

Now We Know: Beto O\u2019Rourke\u2019s PAC Funded Texas Dems\u2019 Private Jet to Illinois<\/p>\n

State lawmakers in Texas make just $7,200 a year. A group of Democratic legislators spent roughly four times that amount to take a private jet to Illinois in an attempt to block their Republican counterparts from passing a new congressional map. But they didn\u2019t have to worry about the price tag\u2014because Beto O\u2019Rourke\u2019s PAC picked it up.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s according to a report in the Texas Tribune, which cited two people involved in the effort to raise funds for Texas Democrats\u2019 walkout. O\u2019Rourke\u2019s PAC, Powered by People, is \u201carmed with a $3.5 million war chest\u201d and has covered most of the costs associated with the walkout so far, including \u201cair transport, lodging, and logistical support,\u201d the outlet reported. Every dollar the group receives going forward will go toward supporting the walkout.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

On Wednesday, Ken Paxton announced he launched a criminal investigation into Beto\u2019s PAC.<\/p>\n

\u201cAny Democrat coward breaking the law by taking a Beto Bribe will be held accountable,\u201d Paxton said.<\/p>\n
