The MAGA hate hoaxer Jussie Smollett is making an unexpected return to televsion.<\/p>\n

Smollett, a former Empire <\/em>star who became the source of global controversy are after paying two men to stage a racist and homophobic hate crime against himself, will appear on Fox network\u2019s Special Forces: World\u2019s Toughest Test<\/em> this winter.<\/p>\n

More than six years after leaving Fox\u2019s Empire<\/em> amid an uproar over an allegedly staged attack, Jussie Smollett is returning to the network.<\/p>\n

Smollett will be part of the network\u2019s competition show Special Forces: World\u2019s Toughest Test<\/em> in the fall.<\/p>\n

The actor and singer is one of 18 celebrities taking on a series of challenges that mirror those of military special forces training.<\/p>\n

The season\u2019s other contestants are Kody Brown (TLC\u2019s Sister Wives<\/em>), Brittany Cartwright (Bravo\u2019s The Valley<\/em>), Randall Cobb (former NFL player), Eric Decker (former NFL player), Jessie James Decker (country music artist), Andrew East (former NFL player), Shawn Johnson East (gold medal-winning Olympic gymnast), Mark Estes (\u201cinternet personality\u201d), Gia Giudice, Teresa Giudice (The Real Housewives of New Jersey<\/em>), Chanel Iman (model), Brianna LaPaglia (\u201cinternet personality\u201d aka Brianna Chickenfry), Johnny Manziel (former Heisman Trophy winner and NFL player), Eva Marcille (model and actress), Ravi V. Patel (Fox\u2019s Animal Control<\/em>), Christie Pearce Rampone (World Cup winner with the U.S. women\u2019s soccer team) and Nick Young (former NBA player).<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Smollett\u2019s unexpected return comes seven years after his staged attack, in which he claimed two men tied a noose around his neck and declared that America was now \u201cMAGA country.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to reports<\/a> at the time, Smollett planned the attack out of frustration with his annual $1 million salary, blieving that public sympathy for his alleged victimhood might help him secure a better contract.<\/p>\n

In 2021, he was sentenced to 150 days in jail, 30 months of felony probation, ordered to pay $120,000 in restitution to the city of Chicago, and fined $25,000.<\/p>\n

However, he served only six days before being released. His conviction was eventually overturned<\/a> on appeal.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Smollett continues to maintain his innocence, despite recently reaching an undisclosed settlement with the city of Chicago over the incident.<\/p>\n
