The Biden State Department wouldn\u2019t touch it for years, but under a new America First foreign policy, Secretary of State Marco Rubio is making it clear that the days of the Muslim Brotherhood hiding behind political activism are numbered.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, Rubio told<\/a> Sid Rosenberg of \u201cSid and Friends in the Morning\u201d<\/em> that the U.S. is already in the process of formally designating the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization, Newsmax<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n

The exchange came after Rosenberg called out New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani for raking in support from radical groups like the Muslim Brotherhood and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).<\/p>\n

Rubio emphasized that while the process is lengthy and requires extensive review, his State Department is actively pursuing it.<\/p>\n

QUESTION:<\/b>\u00a0 So while we talk about designating the cartels, Marco, as a terrorist organization, I got to ask you:\u00a0 Why wouldn\u2019t you guys designate the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR?\u00a0 I just \u2013 I look at these organizations, I have a mayor\u2019s race here in New York City with this psycho, this lunatic Mamdani.\u00a0 Both of these groups you know are behind him, especially the Muslim Brotherhood.\u00a0 Is that something you think we can count on maybe in the near future?\u00a0 Maybe not CAIR just yet, but certainly the Muslim Brotherhood?<\/p>\n

SECRETARY RUBIO:<\/b>\u00a0 Yeah, all of that is in the works, and obviously there are different branches of the Muslim Brotherhood, so you\u2019d have to designate each one of them.\u00a0 But let me just tell you that there\u2019s a process which I didn\u2019t fully appreciate till I came into this job, and I know people don\u2019t want to hear about processes, but because these things are going to be challenged in court, right?\u00a0 Any group can say, \u201cWell, I\u2019m not really a terrorist \u2013 that organization is not a terrorist organization,\u201d so you have to show your \u2013 you have to show your \u2013 the paperwork.\u00a0 You have to show your work like the \u2013 like a math problem when you go before court.<\/p>\n

So we have to go through this process internally where you have to do the review, you have to document and justify what it is.\u00a0 You can know something is what it is, but you still got to go through it so that when someone comes back, as you\u2019ve seen \u2013 they don\u2019t hesitate to go to court now.\u00a0 We are tied up in hundreds and hundreds of lawsuits of every kind.\u00a0 All you need is one federal judge \u2013 and there are plenty \u2013 that are willing to do these nationwide injunctions and basically try to run the country from the bench.\u00a0 So we\u2019ve got to be so careful.<\/p>\n

But all of those things are \u2013 that you just discussed, without getting into great detail because I can\u2019t yet, are in the process.\u00a0 We are constantly reviewing for groups to designate for what they are: supporters of terrorists, maybe terrorists themselves, whatever it may be.\u00a0 We haven\u2019t done this in a long time, so it\u2019s \u2013 we\u2019ve got a lot of catch-up to do.\u00a0 And you\u2019ve mentioned a couple names, particularly the Muslim Brotherhood, that are of grave concern.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Muslim Brotherhood, founded in Egypt in 1928 by Hassan al-Banna, is widely recognized as the ideological parent of Hamas, al-Qaeda, and numerous other jihadist groups. Its stated goal is the global implementation of Sharia law, and its branches have been linked to violent uprisings, political assassinations, and terrorist financing.<\/p>\n
