Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass recently appeared on CNN to complain about Trump using the military to curb crime in Washington, DC. During the course of her comments, she claimed that crime in her city is down, which is hilarious. Every other week we hear about a celebrity\u2019s home being robbed, not to mention the rioting that happened when ICE conducted raids in the city.<\/p>\n

Bass says that you can\u2019t use the military based on people\u2019s feelings. That\u2019s rich coming from a member of the party of feelings.<\/p>\n

BASS:<\/strong>\u2026 you don\u2019t deploy the armed forces because of people\u2019s feelings. That is just inappropriate. If the statistics say that crime is down, then why would you do that because people feel afraid? Now, I deal with that all the time and I try to address people\u2019s feelings. I don\u2019t think you just shove statistics in folks, but you do do other things to make them feel safe. You don\u2019t use the military to help people feel better.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Actress and independent filmmaker Justine Bateman, who lives in Los Angeles, called out Bass for this on Twitter\/X, saying:<\/p>\n

@MayorOfLA, crime in LA is not down. Almost everyone I know has had their houses broken into in the last 2 years. The police tell us there aren\u2019t enough @LAPD officers to attend to calls that aren\u2019t life-threatening. <\/p>\n

You do not have control of this town. <\/p>\n

We wish the time you spend on TV, defending people who are here illegally, was instead spent working for this town and its citizens. <\/p>\n

Properly fund the LAPD, properly fund the @LAFD, and allow those who understand how to rebuild the Palisades and Altadena the authority they need to get it done. <\/p>\n

Do the basics of your job, or leave the office.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
