According to\u00a0Campus Reform<\/a>, \u201cMore than 45 student groups at George Washington University (GWU) signed a petition calling on the school administration to declare the school a \u2018sanctuary campus\u2019 for illegal immigrants.\u201d<\/p>\n

Like much of academia, GWU is a hotbed of open borders liberalism.<\/p>\n

In this specific case, the petition was launched by The GW Socialist Action Initiative.<\/p>\n

The group, according to Washington Free Beacon,<\/a> issued demands for the university, \u201camong the demands were banning federal immigration enforcement officials from entering campus and refusing to cooperate with government surveillance or deportation efforts.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Socialist radicals also issued a threat that \u201cany deal that GW could reach with the Trump Administration will harm student life and wellbeing.\u201d<\/p>\n

These demands were not without precedent at this university. Previously, GWU\u2019s chapter of Students For Justice In Palestine made a similar demand on May 3rd, \u201ccalling on the administration to bar Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and reject compliance with federal deportation orders.\u201d<\/p>\n

Students For Justice In Palestine also called President Trump\u2019s policies a \u201cterror campaign\u201d and said the university was taking \u201cblood money\u201d by agreeing to comply with federal immigration law.<\/p>\n

In yet another example of irrational intersectionality Students for Justice In Palestine circulated a petition saying the University\u2019s silence in the face of federal intimidation is \u201cviolence against its noncitizen community members.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

The petition continued, <\/span>\u201cWhile schools across the nation stand tall against [Department of Homeland Security] and ICE cruelty, GW has promised to \u2018do what is required\u2019 to continue receiving this administration\u2019s blood money.\u201d<\/p>\n

Like other absurd campus groups, they use euphemisms to obscure their true intent. Noncitizen means illegal.<\/p>\n

This is but one absurd example of leftist open borders activism on this campus. Previously, GWU faculty announced<\/a> the formation of a Faculty for Justice in Palestine chapter, expressing support for divestment from Israel and solidarity with radical student demonstrators.<\/p>\n

The University has previously come under federal scrutiny.<\/p>\n

The Trump Justice Department concluded GWU violated civil rights laws by not addressing harassment against pro-Israel students in 2024 during the anti-Israel protests.<\/p>\n

The DOJ wrote, \u201cThe administration took no meaningful action and allowed abhorrent, immoral, and illegal conduct to persist.\u201d<\/p>\n
