The Bureau of Prisons contracts NGOs to manage individuals who are allowed to be on home confinement.<\/p>\n One of the stipulations for his home confinement is that he wear an ankle bracelet. The only problem? Both of Brian\u2019s legs were blown off along with the lower part of his right arm.<\/p>\n Brian was told by an NGO employee that the only choice he had was to put the giant ankle bracelet on his last remaining limb, his left arm.<\/p>\n This is absolutely cruel and unusual punishment. There are watches that can be used in place of ankle bracelets. Why wasn\u2019t Brian given that option? It\u2019s egregious.<\/p>\n Brian sent me a text and told me the problems the ankle bracelet is causing.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s horrible, like having a brick duct taped to your hand. Since it\u2019s my only limb, it\u2019s constantly getting in the way of my wheelchair when I try to roll. It\u2019s caused me to fall multiple times when it interferes with my hand grip when transferring out of my wheelchair. Dhillon is the Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights at the U.S. Department of Justice in President Trump\u2019s administration. Givens was appalled by what Brian is being made to go through.<\/p>\n Givens told me that it is cruel and unusual punishment and that he will be in contact with Dhillon to see what her office can do about it.<\/p>\n Everyone should be furious about the treatment this war hero is being subjected to. Be sure to contact your member of Congress and ask that they inquire why a triple-amputee war veteran is being treated like this.<\/p>\n I\u2019ve been heading up public relations for Brian since he was wrongfully imprisoned for getting privately funded border walls built. Because he is a triple-amputee veteran, and the \u201cmost severely wounded Airman to survive any war,\u201d he requires special attention to his medical needs, which are not being provided in the prison.<\/p>\n From Kolfage:<\/p>\n \u201cI have to shit in a plastic pan that\u2019s not even a bedpan. I can\u2019t use the toilets because they are too unsafe and I have fallen off them. I have to urinate into a plastic jug too.<\/em><\/p>\n They have nothing for my body to stay physically healthy, they have never dealt with a triple amputee like myself. Because of their inability to care for me long-term, I\u2019m now pre-diabetic, my livers are inflamed, my blood pressure is high, and my cholesterol is also now high. Everything they are doing to me is fucking me up internally and my organs are all having problems. The doctor here last week said I\u2019m at a high risk for a heart attack now. This is 100% on them. I came in here healthy.<\/em><\/p>\n I was told I needed to see a hand surgeon now. They have ruined my last remaining limb. Like the government hasn\u2019t taken enough of my body, they want my last remaining limb. The overuse of my hand here has destroyed it, my fingers get stuck and don\u2019t bend. If my tendons rupture, my hand will never work again like it should. The Mayo doctor said I needed a certain wheelchair, and the FBOP physical therapist who came with me told them right there on the spot \u201cWe don\u2019t have funds for that\u201d. They won\u2019t even let me use my VA insurance to get what I need. This pain is so excruciating, it feels like when I lost my limbs in Iraq. To this day, they haven\u2019t done anything except get me a different wheelchair cushion.<\/em><\/p>\n I haven\u2019t had a proper shower in over a year since I arrived, I use baby wipes. This is also because they do not have the appropriate shower accessibility for a triple amputee. This is unacceptable!<\/em><\/p>\n They haven\u2019t given me the proper meds for my pain; they said it\u2019s against their policy, so they feed me highly addictive Oxys instead, which still don\u2019t work. However, they give these specific meds to other inmates who have drug problems. So they wanted me to lie and say I did have a problem just to get the correct medication, which I\u2019m not going to say.<\/em><\/p>\n These people are not able to care for me and my internal health is going to shit. They are way out of their league.
