I also fear torture by or at the acquiescence of a public official in that country,\u201d Abrego Garcia <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2025\/08\/25\/politics\/kilmar-abrego-garcia-baltimore-rally\" target=\"_blank\">said <\/a>on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, Judge Xinis temporarily blocked the Trump Admin from deporting Kilmar Abrego Garcia and set an evidentiary hearing for this Friday.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">HAPPENING NOW: Judge Xinis is leaning toward issuing another restraining order to block Kilmar Abrego Garcia&#8217;s immediate deportation to Uganda at least through this week \u2014 she wants an evidentiary hearing on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Kyle Cheney (@kyledcheney) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kyledcheney\/status\/1960041480220815740?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 25, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Judge Xinis also ordered Abrego not be moved from his detention facility in Virginia. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-conversation=\"none\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">XINIS orders that Abrego not be moved from his detention facility in Virginia, in order to ensure he has access to counsel.<\/p>\n<p>Xinis asks Ensign if her oral order is enough \u2014 knowing Ensign has previously argued that only written orders count.
