Highly unpopular French President Emmanuel Macron leads a chaotic minority government that is nothing short of a trainwreck.<\/p>\n

Once a promise of hope and change, former Rothschild banker Macron is a shadow of the leader he thought he\u2019d be, and is about to have to find his seventh Prime Minister, after \u00c9douard Philippe (2017\u20132020), Jean Castex (2020\u20132022), \u00c9lisabeth Borne (2022\u20132024), Gabriel Attal (2024), Michel Barnier (2024) and Fran\u00e7ois Bayrou (2024\u2013present).<\/p>\n

On the cusp of yet another political crisis, Prime Minister Fran\u00e7ois Bayrou\u2019s shock decision to take a giant gamble and submit his government to a vote of confidence in parliament has been widely criticized.<\/p>\n

BBC<\/a> reported:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe chances of [Bayrou] winning the vote in a special session of the National Assembly on September 8 being extremely slim, the prime minister\u2019s days in office look numbered.<\/em><\/p>\n

If the vote is lost, Bayrou will be expected to resign, leaving France once again rudderless at a time of immense economic, social and geopolitical uncertainty.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Macron fears the advance of rightwing RN of Marine Le Pen and Jordan Bardella.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

After Macron has soundly defeated by Marine Le Pen\u2019s RN in the European elections in June 2024, he dissolved the Parliament to try to get a clean slate \u2013 but things only got more chaotic than before.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf [Bayrou] wins, it will be a spectacular vindication of his apocalyptic strategy, warning \u2013 like a lone prophetic voice \u2013 of the existential threat to France if it fails to take back control of its debt. The trouble is no-one expects him to win the vote.<\/em><\/p>\n

[\u2026] The four pro-government groups in the Assembly have 210 deputies between them. The oppositions \u2013 of left and right \u2013 have between them 353.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Macron\u2019s minority government is a trainwreck.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

All opposition leaders already stated that they are not going to rescue the beleaguered PM.<\/p>\n

When the government does fall there will be renewed calls for Macron to resign, which he will not agree to.<\/p>\n

\u201cMarine Le Pen is leading calls for a new dissolution of the National Assembly, which under the constitution is now possible. No second dissolution was allowed within a year of the first which meant that until July there was no way out of the parliamentary impasse.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
