Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is breaking through the media silence on an uncomfortable truth: America may be fueling its own violence epidemic through psychiatric drugs pushed by Big Pharma.<\/p>\n

RFK Jr. declared that for the first time, the federal government is conducting real studies to determine whether America\u2019s sky-high dependence on psychiatric medications is tied directly to the surge in random, senseless shootings that have horrified communities coast to coast.<\/p>\n

\u201cI certainly consider mass shootings a health crisis. For the first time, we are doing real studies to find out what the ideology behind them is. We\u2019re also looking, for the first time, at psychiatric drugs,\u201d RFK Jr. said during a news conference in Texas on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Kennedy pointed out that guns have been part of American life for centuries, but the phenomenon of mass random shootings is entirely modern.<\/p>\n

He argues that America\u2019s epidemic of violence may be fueled not by the Second Amendment, but by decades of reckless over-prescription of psychiatric drugs that carry deadly risks.<\/p>\n

RFK Jr. stressed that psychiatric medications often carry black box warnings \u2014 the FDA\u2019s strongest label \u2014 explicitly warning that they can cause \u201csuicidal and homicidal ideation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yet for years, any attempt to discuss the link between prescription drugs and mass shootings has been ridiculed or dismissed by the political class and the mainstream media.<\/p>\n

I certainly consider mass shootings a health crisis. For the first time, we are doing real studies to find out what the ideology behind them is. We\u2019re also looking, for the first time, at psychiatric drugs.<\/p>\n

People have had guns in this country forever. When I was a kid, we had shooting clubs at our school. Kids\u2014my classmates and others\u2014would bring a .22 rifle, leave it in their cars, and park it in the lot. Nobody was shooting.<\/p>\n

There has never been a time in America, or in the history of humanity, when people just walked into a crowd, a church, a movie theater, or a school, and started randomly shooting.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s happening in our country. It\u2019s not happening around the world. Many other countries have comparable levels of guns to what we have. We had comparable levels in the \u201940s, \u201950s, and \u201960s\u2014and people weren\u2019t doing that. Something changed. It dramatically changed human behavior.<\/p>\n

One of the culprits we need to examine is the fact that we are the most over-medicated nation in the world. A lot of those medications are psychiatric drugs that have black-box warnings\u2014warnings of suicidal and homicidal ideation.<\/p>\n

So we are doing those studies right now, for the first time, and we will have an answer.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

While appearing on Fox & Friends<\/em> Thursday morning, Kennedy was also pressed on whether he would investigate the medications taken by the shooter, who authorities confirmed identified as transgender.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re launching studies on the potential contribution of some of the SSRI [selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor] drugs and some of the other psychiatric drugs that might be contributing to violence.\u201d<\/p>\n
