\u201cWe pour more than\u00a0$4 trillion annually<\/strong>\u00a0into treating these preventable diseases. And we continue to graduate physicians unprepared to confront their root cause,\u201d Kennedy lamented.<\/p>\n\u201cThe good news,\u201d he says, is that \u201cdiet not only causes these conditions,\u00a0it can also PREVENT and REVERSE them<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n\u201cWe can reverse the chronic disease epidemic simply by changing our diets and lifestyles,\u201d Kennedy declared.<\/p>\n
Kennedy said in order to fix the problem, \u201cWe need nutrition to be a basic part of\u00a0EVERY<\/strong>\u00a0doctor\u2019s training.\u201d<\/p>\nSo he\u2019s proposing a move that directly threatens the \u201cpill for every ill\u201d approach to medicine that has devastated the health of Americans for decades.<\/p>\n
Kennedy announced, \u201cWe\u2019ll start by embedding nutrition directly into college pre-med programs and testing it on the MCAT<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n\u201cEvery future physician should master the language of prevention before they even touch a stethoscope,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n
Kennedy says that under President Trump\u2019s leadership, this move will \u201csystematically transform nutrition education throughout American medicine for more than 200 of America\u2019s medical schools, 13,000 residency and fellowship programs, and ultimately each of the nation\u2019s 1.1 million practicing physicians.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIn the future, doctors won\u2019t just prescribe drugs,\u00a0they\u2019ll be able to PRESCRIBE DIETS as well<\/strong>,\u201d Kennedy explained.<\/p>\n\u201cBy confidently screening for diet-related diseases and collaborating with nutrition experts to recommend food-based solutions, our reforms will save our country hundreds of billions of dollars and prevent millions of debilitating chronic diseases.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is an approach that is both radical and common sense,\u201d Kennedy continued.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re going to reconnect medicine with its roots. Hippocrates, the father of medicine, said, \u2018Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food<\/strong>.\u2019 His advice remains true today.\u201d<\/p>\nThis is Big Pharma and Big Medicine\u2019s worst nightmare. Healthy Americans mean\u00a0less sickness to profit from<\/strong>.<\/p>\nAnd when doctors start prescribing diets that work instead of a pill for every ill, Big Pharma\u2019s gravy train\u2014and its influence on politics<\/strong>\u2014starts going down in flames.<\/p>\nThis is a huge move that anyone who cares about humanity can applaud and celebrate.<\/p>\n
