Residents of Baltimore told former CNN host Don Lemon during livestreamed man-on-the-street interviews that they fully approve of the federal crackdown in Washington, D.C., and hope their city will be next.

The interviews, captured and posted in raw video footage, highlight the desperation in cities where skyrocketing violence has left everyday Americans fed up with failed liberal policies.

Lemon set out to ask locals about Trump’s plan to deploy National Guard troops to combat out-of-control violence and to his apparent surprise, the responses were overwhelmingly positive, with residents citing murders, drugs, and a lack of consequences for criminals as reasons they want federal intervention.

One lifelong Maryland resident, an older woman, shared a heartbreaking personal story about how her husband was murdered in a carjacking in front of their house.

The perpetrator was never caught and faced “no consequences.”

“I want justice,” she told Lemon.

“And you would like to see the troops here and the National Guard?” Lemon asked.

“Yes,” she replied.

A man he spoke to stressed that the crime is out of control and urged the president to “Make Baltimore Great Again!”

“All these killings all the time! You know, the murder rate’s going higher and higher and all the drugs,” the man lamented.

“Send the troops to straighten everything out, you know what I mean? And then, like, you know, make Baltimore great again!” he said. “Rebuild it back how it was a long time ago.”

Even a man heading to Friday prayers at a local mosque supported the idea, describing Baltimore’s crime as “atrocious” and calling federal help “a breath of fresh air.” He said he was “not opposed to it” and believed it could clean up the crime-ridden neighborhoods.

Watch the latest video at foxnews.com

The interviews come on the heels of Trump’s successful surge in D.C., where he took over the Metropolitan Police Department and deployed National Guard troops.

D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, a Democrat who initially opposed the move, later admitted it worked, with carjackings dropping a whopping 87%.

Trump has labeled Baltimore a “hellhole” and signaled he’s ready to step in, stating, “We have a right to do it because I have an obligation to do it to protect this country, and that includes Baltimore.”
