Here\u2019s the breakdown of how that money is being spent:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Brand Vendors: $640,000<\/li>\n<li>Public Awareness Campaign: $115,000<\/li>\n<li>Consolidated city-wide design software for all departments: $75,582<\/li>\n<li>Support staff and legal counsel \u2013 salary and benefits for a Brand Project Manager (temporary City employee) and external legal review: $186,976<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>On Thursday, Austin City Manager T.C. Broadnax boasted about the new woke logo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor the first time in Austin\u2019s history, we will have a logo to represent the city services and unify us as one organization, one Austin,\u201d Broadnax said.<\/p>\n<p>Broadnax said there was a \u201creal business need for a unified rebrand.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want our community members to be able to identify members of our team as city of Austin employees and trust the services we provide whether they see the brand on a website, a utility bill, a street sign or the side of a vehicle, they\u2019ll know exactly who it\u2019s from and what it stands for,\u201d Broadnax added.<\/p>\n<p>He continued, \u201cAustinites told us that they value and appreciate their interaction with city staff, but they also want a modern government that reflects the community\u2019s values and is consistent, connected and responsive across departments and services, and that\u2019s what this brand does.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>WATCH:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">No, this is not satire.
