A New York Times poll conducted from Sept. 22-27 found that most Americans back President Donald Trump\u2019s deportation policies.<\/p>\n

According to the survey<\/a> of 1,313 registered voters, 54 percent said they support deporting immigrants living illegally in the United States back to their home countries.<\/p>\n

Despite Democrats and legacy media portraying deportations as cruel, public support for them has remained steady.<\/p>\n

The Times noted<\/a> that \u201ca 51 percent majority said the government was mostly deporting people who \u2018should be deported.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

The same report also said, \u201c54 percent of voters said they supported deporting immigrants living in the United States illegally \u2014 including nearly 20 percent of Democrats.\u201d<\/p>\n

Even the Times admitted, \u201ca slim majority of voters said the Trump administration\u2019s process for deportation had mostly been unfair, and a majority thought Mr. Trump had gone too far on immigration enforcement.\u201d<\/p>\n

The survey showed opposition concentrated in key groups.<\/p>\n

Women registered 29 percent as \u201cstrongly oppose.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hispanics came in at 45 percent in strong opposition.<\/p>\n

Among non-white college graduates, 31 percent were in the \u201cstrongly oppose\u201d category.<\/p>\n

Overall, only 24 percent said they strongly oppose deportations.<\/p>\n

Independents remain split on the issue, but only 25 percent of independents were in strong opposition.<\/p>\n

Among Trump\u2019s 2024 voters, 94 percent said they supported the deportations.<\/p>\n

The wording of the poll itself shows why the numbers are likely even higher in reality.<\/p>\n

The Times described deportations as \u201cdeporting immigrants living in the United States illegally.\u201d<\/p>\n

That phrasing is designed to skew results. It falsely labels illegal aliens as \u201cimmigrants,\u201d and it places the word \u201cillegally\u201d in such a way that some could read it as \u201cimmigrants being illegally deported.\u201d<\/p>\n

If the question had simply been, \u201cDo you support the deportation of illegal immigrants?\u201d the result probably would not have been close.<\/p>\n

Still, Trump is polling at 54 percent support on the issue despite the hostile legacy media, Hollywood, academia, and Democrats all aligned against him.<\/p>\n
