Talarico is running for the Democrat primary in Texas against the vile Jasmine Crockett.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy family is from the border,\u201d he said. \u201cMy mum grew up in Laredo, Texas.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like Texans understand this issue more so than people in other states because we live with it,\u201d he continued. \u201cBoth the benefits and the challenges.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSo what I\u2019ve said is that our southern border should be like our front porch. There should be a giant welcome mat out front and a lock on the door.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201dWe can welcome immigrants who want to live the American dream and we can build a pathway to citizenship for those neighbors who have been here making us richer and stronger and we can keep out people who mean to do us harm.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to RealClearPolling, an Emerson poll has Talarico leading Crockett by nine points.<\/p>\n

However, two separate polls from TSU and the University of Houston show her up by eight and 18 points, respectively.<\/p>\n

Whoever comes up on top, Republicans must hold this seat later this year.<\/p>\n
