In a not-so-shocking endorsement of leftwing violence, CNN Host Dana Bash attempted to defend the leftwing terrorist who was shot dead by a border patrol in Minneapolis, describing him as a \u201cvictim\u201d during an interview with Border Patrol Commander Greg Bovino on Sunday.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

As The Gateway Pundit reported<\/a>, Border Patrol fatally shot a man during a struggle this morning after the suspect pulled his gun on agents.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe officers attempted to disarm the suspect but the armed suspect violently resisted. More details on the armed struggle are forthcoming,\u201d the Department of Homeland Security said in a statement.\u00a0 \u201cFearing for his life and the lives and safety of fellow officers, an agent fired defensive shots. Medics on scene immediately delivered medical aid to the subject but was pronounced dead at the scene.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bovino told reporters<\/a> on Saturday that the incident occurred while federal agents were attempting to arrest Jose Huerta Chuma of Ecuador, an illegal alien who had a record of domestic assault to intentionally inflict bodily harm, disorderly conduct, and driving without a valid license.<\/p>\n

Alex Jeffrey Pretti appeared to be trying to \u201cdo maximum damage and massacre law enforcement\u201d with a 9mm semi-automatic handgun and two fully loaded magazines when he was shot dead, Bovino said.<\/a><\/p>\n

During Bovino\u2019s appearance on CNN\u2019s State of the Union, Bash was adamant that the Department of Homeland Security was lying, that the suspect was only \u201ctrying to help,\u201d and that he was only filming law enforcement, \u201cwhich is a legal thing to do in the United States of America.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bash:<\/strong> What you are saying is that he went there to try to stop this law enforcement operation. All of the video that we have seen shows him documenting it with his cell phone, which is a lawful thing to do, and the only time he seemed to interact with law enforcement is when they went after him, when he was trying to help an individual who law enforcement pushed down. So where do you have the evidence to show that he was trying to impede that that law enforcement operation?<\/p>\n

Bovino:<\/strong> Sure, Dana. First, he was there in the scene. He was in the scene actively impeding and assaulting law enforcement to the point\u2014<\/p>\n

Bash:<\/strong> But that\u2019s not illegal! He wasn\u2019t\u2014 He wasn\u2019t impeding it. He was filming it, which is a legal thing to do in the United States of America.<\/p>\n

Bovino:<\/strong> Let\u2019s don\u2019t freeze frame adjudicate this now. He was there for a reason, and that reason was to impede law enforcement to the point\u2014<\/p>\n

Bash:<\/strong> What evidence do you have of that?<\/p>\n

Bovino:<\/strong> And here\u2019s a good point, Dana, is the fact that de-escalation techniques were utilized during this action. Those de-escalation techniques, whether it was physically trying to remove them from that law enforcement scene, that active law enforcement scene in which law enforcement were going after a violent illegal alien, or the use of pepper spray, which is another de-escalation technique, those techniques did not work.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Later in the interview, Bash accused Bovino of \u201cblaming the victim,\u201d and he fired back, \u201cThe victims are the Border Patrol agents. I\u2019m not blaming the Border Patrol agents.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bash:<\/strong> With respect, it feels as though, in some ways, you\u2019re blaming the victim here.<\/p>\n

Bovino:<\/strong> The victim? The victims are the Border Patrol agents. I\u2019m not blaming the Border Patrol agents. The victim are the Border Patrol agents. The suspect put himself in that situation. The victims are the Border Patrol agents there.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

<\/div>\n\n

Bovino further confirmed, to Bash\u2019s demise, that the agents would remain on the job with only a temporary break from field duties in Minneapolis, but \u201cthey\u2019ll be at a different location.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bash:\u00a0<\/strong>Are the agents who were involved still on the job?<\/p>\n

Bovino:<\/strong> Yes, there these border patrol agents are going to, more than likely, be on administrative duty. But they will remain Border Patrol agents.<\/p>\n

Bash:<\/strong> What does that mean? So they\u2019ll be off the streets for a bit?<\/p>\n

Bovino:<\/strong> In Minneapolis, they will, but only in Minneapolis, here. They\u2019ll, be at a different location.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
